2017 GP Internationaux de France Pairs SP

nyone having problems with IceNetwork? I keep getting this message "You can not play this media on the current browser / platform". This is really pissing me off.

In the movie A Room With a View set in Italy, the main character says about Italians - love lovable and yet so violent. I feel this applys to the style of many of the Italian dancers and pairs - so passionate, so all guns a blazing at all times.

Very good skate by the Italians.

Della Monica / Guarise

Brilliant technical performance overall. First to nail the side by side, a smooth triple twist, and a great throw triple loop. As much as I extremely don't care for this music choice, which makes me think of a dying homeless woman in a dilapidated church, they do the best they can with setting the mood of the program. Very easily into first place thus far.

I think the ISU computer crashed. It was MAGNIIIIFICCAAAAATTT.

Yup, they're showing the tech team doing something... looks like they're reading off numbers to each other.

I'm going to be so nervous at nationals that I probably won't be able to watch them skate and will just hide until after the results are out.

Hi everyone. I'm new here but a longtime figure skating fan. I have a question that's been bugging me that I would love to get your thoughts on:

Why do so many of the elite pairs teams, including several of the teams that have skated so far at GP France and other GP events, struggle so much with their side-by-side, non-combination triple jumps? It seems like even when doing some of the "easier" jumps like salchows/toe loops, many teams perform the jumps well only about 50% of the time (or less). In elite singles skating, these are jumps that are rarely missed, especially when not done in combination. Is it because the pairs have so many other elements to perfect (lifts, throws, twists) that they don't have the time to perfect their jumps? I just always find it strange when teams can do beautiful triple twists, intricate footwork and pairs spins, incredible lifts, etc., but can't consistently do triple salchows.

What do you all think? Also, if there is a more appropriate forum for me to post this in please let me know!

But those are the best parts of skating!

Where we’re you last week? It was non stop man buns and crown royal lampshade costumes in all the disciplines! And I wasn’t even drunk for any of It!

....uh, well i suppose there weren’t any man buns in the ladies event.

Maybe they sprayed some of that white powder and water on the computer so the judges have to do the math by hand.

Uhm. You better try this question in the Edge, maybe in the Olympic pair skating thread? Here is more like everyone commenting spontaneously what's going on in the competition.

Eurodudes mentioning the TES box wasn't on during the program so probably something wrong with the system.
