2017 GP Internationaux de France Pairs SP

Where we’re you last week? It was non stop man buns and crown royal lampshade costumes in all the disciplines! And I wasn’t even drunk for any of It!

....uh, well i suppose there weren’t any man buns in the ladies event.

I was at a friend's house for the weekend. IRL friends still take priority

Did the judging computer system bork out like Andrew and Scott’s twizzles? I feel like a venue in Bora Bora could do a better job of hosting this GP. :dbana:

nyone having problems with IceNetwork? I keep getting this message "You can not play this media on the current browser / platform". This is really pissing me off.

The only way I can access Ice Network was by using Chrome. I have no probs with Chrome.

Yep! I talked to them over the phone. It has to do with enabling a flash player. I made safari and internet explorer work, but still cannot watch it with chrome...

Somebody skated clean and the computer system crashed because of shock.

Hi everyone. I'm new here but a longtime figure skating fan. I have a question that's been bugging me that I would love to get your thoughts on:

Why do so many of the elite pairs teams, including several of the teams that have skated so far at GP France and other GP events, struggle so much with their side-by-side, non-combination triple jumps? It seems like even when doing some of the "easier" jumps like salchows/toe loops, many teams perform the jumps well only about 50% of the time (or less). In elite singles skating, these are jumps that are rarely missed, especially when not done in combination. Is it because the pairs have so many other elements to perfect (lifts, throws, twists) that they don't have the time to perfect their jumps? I just always find it strange when teams can do beautiful triple twists, intricate footwork and pairs spins, incredible lifts, etc., but can't consistently do triple salchows.

What do you all think? Also, if there is a more appropriate forum for me to post this in please let me know!

Pair elements take up so much time in training. Also pair sbs jumps are more difficult because the skaters must be in sync and each person may come into a pair with different setups and timing.
