Mathematically Mai still would have been in 4th. Osmond's lutz has been called clean (certainly not "e") for a while now. But no matter what I guess certain folks will keep adamant.

Also I love the people who are suddenly all upset about Osmond not getting scored high enough and (rightfully) only placing 3rd, because it's inconvenient for Wakaba ... whereas every other time they would be salty as heck and automatically say she is overscored. :laugh2:

8 points is pretty much a triple loop landed considering the deduction and probably the effect on PCS the fall had.

Well, 3Lo: she got 3.61 for it here. At SC, she got 7.21, which makes a +3.6.
So, considering the fall deduction and some extra PCs, she would get +5 points on it.
She would still need that 2A imho.

The fact that Alina skated clean and Katletlyn did not should be reflected on TES, not PCS

Technically, about 99% people here keep demanding falls to be reflected in PCs, as it is disruptive for the performance.

The only way wakaba makes the GPF now is if Tsurskaya and Ashley don't place 1st at skate America. I'm hoping for a clean competition from either Gabby or Satoko to let wakaba go to GPF Or even Karen Chen

Hey, I'll complain about BOTH their PCS if you like!
I think both of them could have done with less, but Alina was performing full-on so if the judges were going to go crazy with the PCS, giving it to Alina is not the worst thing they could do.
Mai...is going to have to just keep going and not get flustered about this even though she has every right to be puzzled at the judges low scores. She will need to talk with her team and find a plan to make them notice her more. Mime more furiously, be a swan, put hand over head, cut the program up to add more transitions, forget that audiences are delighted with her skating and skate for the judges scores alone. (sorry, I'm feeling very salty) :dev2:

The skating tonight was really good, I enjoyed all of the programs very much. I do NOT agree with the scores the judges gave for some of the skates, but that's all part of the experience I guess.

but she does it too and got only 0.6 for that rippon 3S with intrecate steps going in, i really dont get it

While Osmond is a great skater....a very fast skater to boot too, I just feel the Swan Lake was/is a bad choice for her. To add to that, making it a black swan. Nothing about her performance screams black swan to me. Wish she'd decided towards being a white swan. Probably would have done the music a better justice by skating to a less dramatic part of swan lake. hwell:

Also, I just don't understand why the ladies (and Max) have decided to turn Swan Lake into POTO of the season. I mean, if one has to go for war horses, I am trying to figure out what and where it was in the works that almost everyone should go for Swan Lake.

PS: Not one ladies doing Swan Lake decided to do what Katarina did with Carmen in terms of the look. Quite disappointed to say the least.

Now I'm glad I didn't even try to go for final tickets though I lost the lottery for Japanese nationals. Poor Japanese audience...Probably only ONE Japanese skater in their final in Nagoya.........:sad21:

Now I have a strong feeling to win the lottery for GPF. I still love to go to watch the competition, so I applied the vacancies appeared after Yuzuru's withdrawal; however, I really wanted to see Wakaba.

Yes if either Tsurskaya or Wagner wins they are qualified.

If one of them takes silver they have to score around 212 which is pretty hard.

I see people complaining about Alina's PCS but what about Kaetlyn's? She got 70(!) on a bombed skate and she doesnt interpret the music very well. Personally, I dont see how she scored over Mai in the FS but that is to be expected of course.

They were all overmarked! They should have received around 63 to 65 max pre-Sochi but with Kaetlyn lead. I disagree there's so much PCS difference between Alina and Mai and Wakaba or even Yuna S. Your SS doesn't just improve and deteriorate overnight like 'some' of these judges want us to believe. It is ridiculous. Mai's PCS was 2nd yesterday and then dropped massively with a mighty thud while the Russian improves massively overnight and now Wakaba is out of GPF? Russian judge team up with Kaz judge with a Russian name? (And by the look of things, the Polish judge) Surprise Surprise, not!

Tursynbaeva has better speed and fluidity than Mihara. And of course, both have better skating skills than Zagitova. Tursynbaeva looked like she was flying in comparison to Zagitova. I think the PCS is legit for the two ladies.

Historically, that's how it's been. 2-3 points gone in PCS for programs with falls vs clean programs, most of the time.

Yes, that Kazach is strange, but ISU does it very often. They take russians from other countries and they play for russians

There are plenty of people who are upset that Osmond did not hold off Sotskova. One even said they had to cheer for Osmond even though they can't stand her and was dismayed she didn't get crazy PCS the one time they wanted her to.
