This should be told to every journalists interviewing young sportsmen who try to deal with high level sport and school. In fact, such a question is embarssing for each and every teenager and I don't understand why to ask it.
But there are two more questions asked regularly. One is about plans for the future after retirement. At this point I would send a journalist to watch the graduation speech of Jessica in "Twilight"

Maybe some 10 percent of youngsters graduating from a liceum know for sure what they are going to do in 8 years time, so why a sportsman should know it? (At least the question asked now is less awkward than asked when Deniss was 15).
Second question asked repeatedly is about switching nationalities. OK, I have read posts advising Deniss to switch to e.g. Suiss to avoid financial problems, but this is not a question that could be constantly discussed by media. How many times is he obliged to assure that he is proud to represent Latvia?
