Both NHK and GPF had improvised elements in the second half due to errors. I still have the theory that the errors are more trying to integrate the quad/the complexity of the programs than anything else. Looking back at his GP season leading up to 2014 Nationals it wasn't all that different, except he was a first year senior internationally so people had fewer expectations for him.
I realize in hindsight that the SP in the 2013-2014 season (Prince) was consistently clean because it wasn't a new program. There isn't any difference between Jr. and Sr. in the SP, so it essentially was the same program. This time around he has TWO new programs and neither of them are easy. I'd argue his Hamilton step sequence is just as hard, if not harder than Riverdance.
