2018 US Championships Sr Men FS

The drama ! The drama ! I can't believe this! Should I stay up to find out the decision or if I go to bed I'll wake up and find out the decision and it will be quicker. But there IS Zelda to play tonight yet. Such a full schedule.

I am still in shock but it was worth watching live.

I think I will pay for Jsports next season to watch Russian & US nationals.
They provide high quality stream with good commentators. Somebody has to pay to help them keep doing it, and, so that FS fans outside Japan enjoy their live stream.
At the same time, I am very thankful to anybody who are paying for icenetwork, so that people outside US like me can enjoy its live stream.

I can only say thank God for Nathan ending the night like he did! How utterly wonderful he is ... and beautiful humility too.

My favorite baseball team got eliminated in the playoffs in October and didn't make the World Series. I was too disappointed to watch the World Series. Now the three skaters I wanted to see at the Olympics likely won't be there, two definitely won't, and I feel my excitement drain. There's a World Series every year, but there's only an Olympics every four, and it's always a highlight for me. I hope this passes because this doesn't feel good.

Which team?

Some folks are predicting Ross might be bumped when making the selections! :disagree:

I'd be so pissed, I'd pull an Ashleyx10. If winning SILVER doesn't get you a spot in a country where they have THREE, I'd say "F the fed, I'm going to town in the media" :angry1:

They didn't bump Polina, who had an even lesser body of work than both Nagasu and Wagner. I doubt they'll leave Miner off.
Ross's scoring potential is way below Vincent's. He's also 26 and probably on the way out soon, Vincent could use the experience. Next, I'd argue that Vincent's score was too low (he got called like Karen which is criminal) and Ross's was too high. Ross didn't get called on some of his jumps. Finally, Vincent and Ross were literally .7 points apart in final score. Ross should get Worlds, but not Olys.

Honestly you all don't even have to worry because no matter what happened to Adam he was always going to be on the team whether he did good or not ugh:palmf: Perks to having body of work ig

I've decided that I don't care who they choose for the Olympic team, but I have no idea what they should do about worlds because that's when next year's worlds spots are on the line.

I really don't understand this argument at all...what does it matter in 2022 if he went to the Olys this year or not? Who knows if he will still be around in 2022?
 Polina Edmund's unfortunate experience this weekend for example.

I actually prefer the idea of sending Chen, Miner and Rippon to Olympics and Chen, Miner and Zhou to Worlds. Zhou can also go to 4CC to get that international exposure for the next quad. Zhou had such a rocky, disastrous senior Grand Prix debut and that could come back to haunt him in terms of Olympic selection.

Vincent has junior world gold, nationals silver last year. I don’t foresee them bumping off the silver medalist. Last year he was bumped, but it was a silver-bronze bumping. They won’t to a silver/4th bumping, but with Adam’s body of work, plus honestly past history, and consistent international scoring, I think Adam gets the nod.

perhaps they prefer "mind' work not "the body" :dumb:

I can't help but thinking that had the judges put miner just a point lower
(behind Zhao) than this would've been a more obvious choice

You can't not send the 2nd place finisher...

I agree with those guessing Nathan, Ross, and Adam may be the team.

After tonight I kind of want it to be Nathan, Vincent (because of the quads), and Adam but I don't see it being justified to skip over Ross for two skaters, especially since those two skaters did not have a perfect season. And I definitely don't see them skipping over Ross and Vincent to give Adam the second spot AND skipping over Grant so Jason can receive the third spot. Jason's had a pretty wonky season (love him, but yeah).
