2018 US Championships Sr Men FS

This Olympic season has been so wild since before it even started. Honestly can't wait for it to be over so we can begin the next mess of a season. :slink:

Adam will be selected to the Olympic team. Watch!

His best friend, Ashley Wagner, was fourth 4 years ago and was selected as we know. It's Adam's turn now. Can't have both 4th place finisher go.

Poor Ross, Vincent and Adam, they will have a terrible night waiting the announcement.

My favorite baseball team got eliminated in the playoffs in October and didn't make the World Series. I was too disappointed to watch the World Series. Now the three skaters I wanted to see at the Olympics likely won't be there, two definitely won't, and I feel my excitement drain. There's a World Series every year, but there's only an Olympics every four, and it's always a highlight for me. I hope this passes because this doesn't feel good.

Oh, honey. :console: You think you have issues with your favourite sports team? Did I ever tell you I’m a Toronto Maple Leafs fan? :( Its been 51 years....

Ross had two good skates, but I would send Vincent, Chen, and Rippon.

As a Brown uber, I'm about to pop open this bottle of wine and slam it. He's definitely not on the team.

Seriously, stupid idiot judges. The PCS was ridiculous for Vincent, and they had NOWHERE to go afterward. No way Ross or Vincent get anywhere near those PCS at Olympics, if they go.

Agree. PCS for both Vincent and Bradie were inflated by quite a bit.

USFS must have one incredible crystal ball in their hands.

Um, if they had sent Vincent to Worlds in 2017, he would have had the "body of work". Kind of unfair. :scratch2:

Rippon's performance was a disaster and he showed that he crumbles under pressure. Vincent was visibly nervous but held it together rather well. I second sending Vincent.

Wasn't Vincent underaged?

So...I might be thinking differently than some (maybe all?) of you here, but shouldn't the Olympics be more of a reward to the podium finishers, while worlds should be where we send our highest 3 scorers since they can secure three spots for next year?
Bc the Olympics is not a qualifier for how many skaters a country can send to next years worlds.

I would send the podium finishers to the Olympics.

I'd add in Rippon and take our Minor for the worlds.

Does that make me crazy? 😬

Going to be peltered for this but:
There was 0.68 difference between Ross and Vincent. Ross had two uncalled UR (4S and 3A). So...

However, I do believe that it should be split between Ross and Vincent. And Vincent would be the much better choice for Worlds, with spots on the line. Ross has never broken 250 internationally.

 Polina Edmund's unfortunate experience this weekend for example.

:agree:
the idea that "they can wait a little longer their time will surely come because their definitely talented" is a very dangerous way of thinking these days with the tech. demands the way they are, especially for the men. And a skaters body goes through rough stuff in general without the jumps! Their career can end or be stalled just like that. Like you said look at Polina!

if they can do it now and earned it now then send them NOW!

Well, I have to take back what I said about firing Vera Wang. Nathan looks absolute smashing, totally awesome ... hair, costume, and his modest, and fairly rare smile!:luv17::love:

Just a personal sidenote: I think it speaks for you that it has been 51 years and you are still a fan. Too many success fans running around in sports these days.
