Truly fantastic. I really hope she gets her jumps in order eventually.
The step sequence is a planned lvl 4 content-wise. In fact, comparing to Kaori's FS step sequence for instance, Melkumova has about 3 times as many difficult steps, well beyond the requirements.
Planned:
RBO counter
LBI rocker
LFI rocker
LBI counter
LFI choctaw
LBO choctaw
LFO rocker
LBO counter
LF(ccw) twizzle 3.5
Toe steps
RFI bracket
RBO edge change
LFO choctaw
RBI rocker
RFI counter

LFI choctaw
LBO choctaw
RFI choctaw

So much work and I'm not confident enough that I'll get everything right(Open to being corrected if I make a mistake though) to act as such an authority. You should do the same brilliant analysis of Medvedeva's, Zagitova's, Kostornaya's, Konstantinova's, Gubanova's, Radionova's and Sotskova's stsqs. We need to know the truth!![]()
Let's remember to watch this beautiful video on Anya by Undine to get us mentally prepared for tomorrow!
She should skate in around 3 hours so...How did Anya do today?
Hmmm, Berestovskaya might potentially tick every single box out of the ones you listed. I wonder where she might be the weakest, probably "flow and charme"? But it's not like it's horrible for her age.I still hope that we will one day see a girl with Tuktamysheva's 2011 jumps, Tarakanova's Expression/Abundance, Zagitova's technical content, Kostornaya's flow and charme and Lipnitskaya's mindset. And then I would be curious if there would be someone who wouldn't like this girl.
I'll record skaters I'm interested in. But usually, these senior / junior competitions get relatively good coverage in that regard.Bad news: there isn't any text info about scores and announcer audibility leaves much to be desired even for russian speaker. Also, will there be someone willing to record this competition (particularly day 2 seniors)? I am afraid tomorrow I can't make it in time.
Great skate by Valeria! Especially after this slownessfest she was like a breath of fresh air with her speed.
But I'd like to see her skating lyrical programs, not this.
Skating's still pretty messy / laboured and she's quite expressionless, or at least I wasn't feeling it.
She's really not in the upper echelon of talents for me. But I guess she can compete for the latter national competition spots in the future.
Well that's the thing, as her skating seems quite messy at this point in time I have my doubts about her ability to maintain speed with more difficult transitions. And it is Eteri so you never know - Maybe there's something more in there. But just getting her jumps consistent won't really be enough in this day and age, she'd need something more than that to be a top ~10 skater for Russia.Fair enough. I just started to look at more less consistent skaters as at material, which Eteri can take and make a star. Zagitova's example is very inspiring.
A year of work with Eteri after Valeria's transfer from Volkov to her, as it was with Trusova (although there was a pit stop with Tsareva), and I guess she'll be fine. I wonder what will be with her speed if she'll start to do many transitions. Hope it won't damage her hard.
