I really think it's less the local time than it is the travel. I mean, as a hardcore fan I wouldn't care about the time. And if you've already paid all that money to fly to SK and the hotels and the food and the transport AND the tickets, what's one more ticket? I would probably not, however (assuming I had the money, which I don't lol), if I were not quite as hardcore a fan, spend thousands and thousands of dollars to travel to a region that my country was actively and repeatedly threatening nuclear war with. There was even talk for a while if the US would allow their athletes to go. I suspect there are a lot of people who were on the bubble of going and thought eh, you know, I'll just skip it this time.

Yes, but I am talking about the local fans. You need international fans and locals to fill a stadium. The international fans who flew to Korea are definitely not going to be worried about the cost of the ticket. But, the local skating fans might be.
