2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens SP

Lol, they just never fail do they? When our badminton team did not get OGM they be like "Athletes crumbled/failed". On one hand tho, i'm grateful that we all are happy for Juju as a country. The same cannot be said for Michael. Poor boy, everyone's bashing him according to what a Filipino friend is telling me.
I'm in the Philippines, and I don't see bashers, even on Twitter. The sad part is the Winter Olympics is practically non-existent here. To bash would be to get recognition, which might not be such a bad thing. Most of the people who know he competed actually are happy for him anyway.

I am not sure who I'm heartbroken more for: Misha K., Nathan or Denis :((( It's clearly not their Olympics. I am rooting for comebacks in the free (for Misha and Nathan at least) but I am starting to doubt even that's possible after double disappointments in the team event and here. I like Nathan's new costume though, it suits him better than his previous one (black doesn't suit him like at all).

Axel troubles in Canada, but otherwise Patrick and Keegan did so well! The BESP guys were rooting for higher PCS for Keegan. I am not sure Chan is in the medal hunt but I am hoping for a memorable career-concluding moment tomorrow.

The top 5, just WOW. Clean and mighty all around!!! The free skate is going to be a nail-biter, but I hope everyone manages to keep it together under the immense pressure and skate clean.

BTW Yuzu On Ice presents far more DRAMA than any anime can ever hope to muster.

Stranger things have happened. Will Javier get it together, though, for the free? It's been his weakness all season.
MaiKatze, go get some sleep! [emoji23] [emoji33] I should have sent you a pack of sleeping pills. You'll have eyebags the size of the moon's crater by tomorrow!

I'm happy the top 4 skated clean! I can't seem to find Javi's and Boyang's performance videos. Yuzuru with such a good skate after his injury! Shoma skating so well despite the two skaters before him not doing so great and the tight jumps (and the not-so-great warm-up)! Nice smile and fist pump. Javi with his clean SP and Boyang clean despite being last! Feel bad for Nathan (but hey, props to him, the step sequence was a thing of beauty, and he never let the program go!). Mikhail - he hasn't been in the spotlight long, and here we have Dima making his point and possibly contending for the top man in Russia. Patrick is as ever a beautiful skater. Keiji... Do better in the free! Looking forward to Deniss' free skate.

Heartbroken that the reigning Olympic bronze medalist Denis Ten, beautiful skater that he is, didn't make the free skate cut. [emoji24] I wish he'd just skipped the quads and settled for triples.

I'm tryin'...but there is so much fluff to be found.... must watch it all! On every channel. And the press conference, and more....

Thank you to the person who posted the Russian stream🤘. Great wuality, interesting to hear Julia and the other woman commentating. Thanks!

I think Javy was better than Hanyu. The program is much better and Javy really worked it. Hanyu's SP this year is quite boring.

Link some of the interesting ones over here.
I second the motion. We'll watch it while MaiKatze tries to get some sleep, lol.

On the other hand, that reminds me to check out the fluffy/Fluffy discourse on my Twitter. So long then!

Seriously Hanyu has had some amazing programs in the past. That SP was a snooze. I would rank the SP this way:

1. Fernandez
2. Hanyu
3. Uno - great but one or two jumps were a little wonky
4. Boyang - actually his program was awesome too

Exactly! I'm shocked that his PE is lower than Chan's and Rippon's! You can make a case for Rippon (I'd disagree), but Chan practically stops performing after he makes a mistake.
Boyang gave face during his SP, and felt the music, too. He felt and looked serious, which is a complete opposite from his personality. Delivered a good performance. Not perfect, but it deserved higher than Chan, at least!

I'd score him a point higher, maybe. Half a point higher for sure.

Adam's performance is not unsimilar to Ashley's in similar SPs: a whole lot of "sass" and winking at the audience and judges, not much substance. I don't think it deserves that much more than say, Keegan's. Not in PE, certainly not in IN.

Well, actually, when I watch him skate I mostly feel like I am being hit on by a creep, because his performance is borderline lewd. And I know he is living his Olympic moment and probably he is getting a lot of positive feedback and fan adoration but I find he's becoming a bit much even in the kiss and cry.

Sass but no substance. Excellent description. At least he delivered under pressure though. I think his score was about right. If anything, Chen was overscored. He shouldn't have even advanced to the FS.
