Love Dmitri's free, too bad he didn't skate it like Euros, but he's very young and very talented and he has lots of time.

I think Aliev was hurt after that first nasty fall - you could tell ; nice try though but we'll see how much he will fall down the ladder.

Dmitri Aliev

A strange hitch out of the corner but he put that aside with a solid 4T+3T combo. Ouch, a hard fall on the second 4T, not such if it all the way around. And a fall on the 3A, looks like he was injured slightly on the two falls. A nice camel spin. Wonderful landing on the 3Lz. Good 3A+2T as well. Only a 2Lo+1Lo+3S, but a stronger 3F and a good 3Lo. Very precise edging in the contemporary-styled footwork and right into a low cannonball for the combo spin. Nice illusion entry into the sit spin.

It looked like the pain in his leg after the two falls really made him struggle through the rest of the program, but he was sturdy and intrepid enough to complete the majority of his jumps quite well. I love his ability to portray both contemporary movement from this free, and traditional movement from his short; his versatility is amazing. I haven't been excited for Russian male skating for a while but he's definitely one of my new favorites. His spins could be better but he has everything to be one of the top skaters in the next quadrennial.

I don't care if Dima scored badly here, he'll redeem himself in due time. I, for sure, will wait for him in another 4 years' time
He is easily my favorite of the younger crop of men. I can't wait to see him gain confidence in the years between now and the next Olympics

I highly doubt Nathan will podium with Javi, Yuzu, Shoma, and Boyang coming up. So people can stop being ridiculous and over dramatic about his mythical podium finish.

I am seriously impressed with Dmitri. To hold it together like that after such a fall... wow. Not the skate he wanted, but he should be very proud of himself (assuming he didn't hurt himself worse by continuing; hope he didn't).

NBC needs to stop treating Nathan like some next world being and putting down all the other skaters. His technical score was great but there are at least a dozen other programs that have had a higher impact than his. asdfghjkl

He's such a lovely skater but from the moment he ran up against the boards this program was headed toward doom.

Another skater to watch for the future though.
