Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Skate order for the free dance is up (but still no protocols). They're skating third in the final group, after the Shibs and before H/D.

ETA: That'll teach me to hit refresh before I post!

ETA2: Protocols! And they got Level 4 on the non-touching midline step sequence, not to mention perfect GOEs!

This is making me so mad now, they had everything to get the same score as the Canadians god damnit !!!!

I can't imagine how frusrating it must be for sth like this to happen! Hope they regroup mentally!

For real now? Gosh. I just, can't. Honestly I just think she held it together amazing. I don't know anyone who could go through an entire program like that with as much gusto as she managed to muster, and she is so strong to step off the ice with a smile. I'm reading things on Twitter that are blowing this entire wardrobe malfunction out of proportions so perhaps we should all stay off that terrible place. Hope Gaby feels better soon and has a good talk with their mental coach to stay focused.

Yeah she was really admirable for keeping it going as well as she did. In the NBC feed Tanith noticed it immediately after the start and it became really loose at a few points. Gabby abbreviated the arms movements in that lift. And she got really distracted for the twizzles. I just hope they have a real talk with their mental coach tonight to put it behind them.

They have nerves of steel, given that this is their first ever Olympic performance, and the stupid wardrobe malfunction. I've realized that a sizable number of people haven't seen a nipple, or probably envy fantastic boobs :cool14:.

Thanks for this comment, really cracked me up  They did handle it well considering she felt it from the start of the dance.

They absolutely do have nerves of steel, especially Gabi. And I really liked that the very first thing Guillaume did, the instant they finished, was hook her dress back up.

I have to say that in the wake of this, my days of liberally using the ignore button on this site and elsewhere are rapidly coming to a middle. Some of the comments I've seen have been extremely unpleasant - far beyond the usual ridiculously OTT tantrum-throwing and accusations of criminal activity that accompany the judging of any ice dance competition. Twitter truly is a hive of scum and villainy.

And there I go, mixing up my SF franchises in my annoyance. Humph.

What a pity. Too nervous clearly. Damn.
But still, if they skate well tomorrow it still might happen...
ETA: I had seen something about the dress. What a stupid stupid stupid thing to happen here and now. Damndamndamn
And it happened right at the beginning. Of their first Olympic performance. Talking about getting thrown off rhythm. Tanith on NBC still talked about their "sublime quality of skating" despite that distraction. And that she was heartbroken for them.

The skating order is not looking ideal for them but hopefully they can put on a performance they will be proud of.

I was watching it with friends, one of whom has been writing about ballet for decades and another was a former professional ballet dancer. We got together because when I randomly shared with them G/G's FD this season they were immediately blown away by them and decided to organize a viewing party. Such is the power and quality of their performance.

If i was her i would have stoped dancing....i still think that she should have done the same....just imagine all those pictures and videos.....awww i feel pain for her.I know she is a very strong woman and BRAVE but...she is also a woman at her 22!I dont know......Maybe i am confused thats why....

I don't know if that's allowed in the rules. Maybe they should have been more savvy if it's allowed. I also heard Tanith say that the coaches were sewing up the colllar during warmup so maybe the problem was already there before the performance started.

I think it's allowed but incurs a time violation?

If that throw back at the start was strong enough to snap stitches, wow, they were not holding anything back, were they!

What is your opinion for the skate order tomorrow....am i the only one who understands that no matter what the judges have deside the end??? i feel really annoyed right now!!!

Seriously, I just want them to skate their hearts out, no need to freak out about anything else. Just like Worlds last year, no matter the outcome. That's why I enjoy them so much after all ! They are truly phenomenal despite what other people might say :hap10:

Guillaume was holding Gabriella's hand during the Press Conference...

They do support and love each other deeply. They're strong and have nerves of steel. Although I'm not sure they'll be able to take that gold medal from V/M (who happen to skate last...so it's going to be an emotional moment), they must be absolutely perfect tomorrow. They are definitely capable of delivering the best FD ever at those Olympics. I don't know if they'll win overall, but they have the material to beat the Canadians in the FD. Hopefully...

Alain, if ever you have a way to get a message across to them, let them know that we are heart-broken, that we have an endless respect and admiration for them and for how they managed today, that we are with them forever and that they should skate only for themselves tomorrow. A bit for us too, but f**k Olympics and the whole circus, just skate for the joy of skating and beauty.

What a shame about the wardrobe malfunction :( I wish them the best FD of their career tomorrow - they can still win if they do their best! Good luck!
