Virtue and Moir capture second Olympic gold

Welcome Oetker! I hope you're enjoying Day 1 on this forum, and isn't it great we can celebrate all our Olympic athletes, medalists and their successes! BTW, this Thread was created from an article which you may want to read beforehand. Thanks and good luck!

Thanks!
But what that article has to do with my response? I\d prefer you to answer back
Greetings!

Also, the strap made a difference in their focus for their step sequence (lvl 3 as opposed to lvl 4). That made the difference. If the top wasn't going to fall off, the judges were about to gift this competition to the French. In the end, the tech panel's call was all the difference.

That said, I was still baffled at the PCS for their short, it should have been lower since they were not 100% focus on the performance and each step during the strap issue.

I was doubting that V/M could pull this off with the panel, but I knew once that their TES can only be at most 1 point off the french in the free.

I dont understand your post.

You know that sounds rude.. And it doesnt show you in a good llight If not that strap? If I read that correctly- you are happy that strap fall off? If it didnt , French would win wrongfully. You are just happy that they got L3 for one element and somehow V/M won and thank God they got L3 to French by making a mistake. So you realize that V/M won by small margin, by accident to be honest. That what I was understood from your post.

so that is worth almost 4 less points ? That doesnt affect level for sure
They're cautious during the program as well. Their lift was really like half-working on it. Kinda "my head is divided." I do not blame them for that because of the dress issue. But honestly I think it's their fault for chosing that costume. I would not wear something so fragile in competition. Or if I do, I'd make sure to cover my chest more carefully.

We love you millie - no need to apologize, as it happens. Go KO!

So please, could you answer my question? Why P/C shouldnt have l4 for their NtSS? What your arguments? Because (according to you )they havent got it whole season?/ I am intrested They didnt deserve it because of what..

Not sure if it out of pocket for me to mention this ... But I see that Justynka12 has been banned. What a shame. :)

Just look at how the Canadian judge lowballed P/C in both marks. She did her best both in the SD and FD, and there was no French judge on the panel to counterbalance her. For all the talk about Didier fixing things for the French, it turned out that the playing field was not level at all, and it favored the Canadians decisively.

Yes, bu they will say that canadian judge was the only one fair, and had to do to balance other judges scores, because they were after french. Thats their theory
That was fixed especially for canadians, no french judge? The pure situation to win

Is there any news on what Victor and Moir have planned to do after the Olympics? Are they going to retire or continue on to Worlds? Someone now has to break their record in skating. Well done 🇨🇦 Canada. Proud Canadians!

I have a feeling that that WR wont last long. They re better skaters out there :dev2:

Somehow for some people a 4-point leap from the Team Event (and the GP series) for V/M is considered "fair" judging. Talk about double standard. It's more like a Sochi Ladies redux.

At least P/C's scoring has been consistent since last year's Worlds with international judging panels.

Honestly, I thought it was much better than the team event.

Exactly, it stinks for a mile. If that happened with P/C , it would be scandal and biased judging. But they are so terified that french Sd was overscored and they look for anything to bash them. The ones who were overscored were canadians.
