I know some of us are overemotional and might be a little biased, but I don't want to take it on the skaters personally. Just as any other lady in the competition Alina had a combo and two single jumps in the SP, and just like Med all stucked in the 2nd half. Her SP is not only about jumping, which she btw does perfectly right now. Sometimes they might be borderline UR but this wasn't the case last night. And for this competition of importance are only the performances from last night and from Friday. She has great spins as well, have you seen her donut spin? I mean, I don't understand that much of technique but I can't stay blind and pretend I don't see the supreme quality just because she is not my top favourite.
I guess your problem is with the huge PCs inflation. I realize it as well and find it problematic, too. Alina's PCs, which appeared to be higher than Satoko's, are questionable. But this is the only way for her to take the lead, since 40+ TES alone won't bring her to the top. But this discussion gets really off topic. PCs inflation is due to the current scoring system. I know many people on this forum keep complaining about undeserved PCs but let's be truthful - no matter how loud those complaints are, always when someone has good SS and presentation (for ex. Zhenya or Kostner) and kind of wonky jumps, than they bash the skaters for not being technical superior and therefore label them as not deserving to take the lead. It's all hypocrisy because despite the complaints people actually tend to enjoy jumps more and to value the programmes based on the TES.
