I've just found one more positive moment in Alina's victory. Her "priestess of fire" will be a gold-ex perfomance :laugh:

wont matter next COP as ISU will limit backloading but
doing ending in 3loop combo increases her diversity and BV

she can also do quad salchow jumps as mentioned she has done in practices.

If they limit backloading (but 2nd half jumps still get a bonus), I think all the top ladies will save the most difficult elements for the 2nd half. (If they are able to do them late in the programme.) 4S is of course an option, but I just can't see her landing them at this point of her career. Of course I would love to be wrong on this.
 
I'm very happy for Alina, but still heartbroken for Evgenia.:sad4:
I wish both could have won that Gold medal.
As if the Universe wanted the same, they got the same marks in the free skating.:eeking:
 
I loved both Alina and Evghenia, I hope both will skate for many many years from now on, because i want to see them growing up in their skills. Alina's program was such a firework, Evghenia's such a Drama, i cannot choose my favorite.
 
I am actually happy.

Considering Evgenia is pretty competitive, now we can expect to see her on the next Olympic games.

Well we have videos to prove Zhenya can do 3f3l and 3l3l combos easily enough, but maybe didn’t feel comfortable risking them in her programs. I’d love to see her do 3l3l combo in her sp, as her loop is lovely. Now it’s worth the risk, as what she is currently doing is not enough, even when near perfection, to beat zagitova when also clean, when it was enough at the start of the season.

Maybe she’ll try a quad, maybe she won’t. But who knows if the juniors could even keep doing them in a few years? I’m very worried for Sasha trusovas hard falls onto her hip on the quad salchow, and how she will hold up in a few years.
