In all fairness, nobody made Yulia or Adelina leave after Sochi. Adelina chose to, Yulia encountered technical problems.I have the awful feeling (please correct me, tell me I'm wrong) that Zhenya is "one and done". They're not building legacy skaters in Russia anymore, like they did with Irina (and tried to with Maria B.). The last three OG teams from Russia had zero holdovers. This is turning into gymnastics where they go guns blazing for one quad, have one single shot, and then retire.
I am hoping that Zhenya gets lucrative contracts to skate in shows, especially in Japan where she's obviously beloved. I have a feeling she'll be fine, but she will need time to think of her future and build it. She is well-respected in the skating community and has two Olympic medals, not too shabby.
Zhenya will always be The Tsarina of figure skating to me. I'm hoping she sticks around, or at least returns in perfect form if she decides to take time off. She deserves to relax and regroup.
Go troll somewhere else.
(No shade to Alina btw, I like her and I don't think she's just 'jumping machine'. It's just that PCS are trashed anyway for a couple of seasons now, it's still sad for me though).
However, she has shown time and time again what a fighter she is - she'll get over it and try to better her technical abilities.

not sure about it....
