Since I don't have anything to do for now, I checked the schedule of the events he might participate in spring. I think the talk shows are done-deal, one is in May at Makuhari, another is in June at Kobe (https://www.aeon.com/campaign/201801-pgolympic/), and those may be on the same weeks or weekends as FaOI. This is the link of FaOI, Makuhari shows are from May 25 to 27, and Kobe shows are from June 15 to 17.

And in April, there is also the garden party in the imperial palace and I'm almost sure he will be there. The parade in Sendai is uncertain yet but it took place in April in 2014. I think he is going to be busy with attending other events, too, so he might be staying in Japan till middle of June while it depends on where he does rehab. (this is all my speculation.)

Please note that this is what I've read in one of the tabloid magazines, but it said that he went to see a doctor of high caliber in Tokyo, and went back to Sendai in February. But there is no official information where he is or what he is doing right now. I'm looking forward to his next appearance

What he is doing? In my mind he is catching up on animes and japanese programs, while eating cake.

I think he is Sendai, unless the doctor indicated for him do to rehab in Tokyo.

On the other hand, if he had the test on 28th February, he already have a week rest, and should be starting therapy on March 15th.

He did have tendon inflammation at one point during his recovery, so it's not a surprise there was tendon damage too. He didn't seem to have much weakness or instability on his right ankle with the way he was landing quads, so hopefully it's just sort of tendonitis and not a tear or other worse things. 3 months give or take seems like a good prognosis, at this point.

I agree. Even with painkillers, I doubt he would have been able to land jumps with a tear, as amazing as the kid is.

WD are normally never fun news but like everyone, I’m happy Yuzu is not going to World and put his health first. I would be loosing my hair in worry if he did go, lol!

Also wondering why Mura isn’t going since he used to be 1st alternate but maybe he did decline when JSF contacted him. That’s too bad, but it will be a nice experience for Tomono.

Yeah, not ideal but he has a brand spanking new Olympic Gold Medal to console himself with at least. And hopefully press to keep himself occupied.

It's crazy to think that this season I watched most of Yuzuru's competitions in person (2 out of 3).

And with that it's been 7 years since we've had a world champion that isn't Yuzu, Javi, or Chan. All the way back to Dai!! Way to hold it down, fellas! :eeking:

Me too, me too. It’s hurts to hear him talk about the injury when the media ask him, he don’t know how bad it was and there is always uncertainty that the injury could end his career when he don’t know what’s behind it, sooooo relief to know that he now have more information about it, so he could focus on healing it, rather than guessing and worrying.

I hope he take all the time he need and he is now very good at using his mind, I hope he start thinking about new programs for next season

I am really looking forward to see Tomono at world, the last time I saw him, I was really impressed, he looks fearless and very entertaining.

It's actually quite a complicated feeling because even though I know he'd withdraw, a tiny part of me who still wants to watch him skate chopin and seimei live was getting super restless as I waited for the news

But finally! And maybe this time I can fully enjoy the worlds without stressing out and losing hair over yuzu haha.
I went to Helsinki last year as well and while I can say that I had the best time of my live experiencing Yuzu breaking WR in front of my own eyes, I have never cried so much for a competition. It was such an emotional rollercoaster that I'm actually super excited about enjoying the worlds and Milan without A SINGLE STRESS. :yay:

This is the ineterview on Feb.22, and he said he thought the damaged area was the part where could not be performed the surgery.

Boston worlds (free skate only) being my first time seeing him live gave me a touch of PTSD I think. I didn't cry in Helsinki but I was so excited and relieved and screaming and happy. For the Olympics, with the injury already well established I was calmer about everything and just resigned to going through whatever the process was going to be. These results were not going to define him for me because he already did that with years of incredible performances. I'd flown thousands of miles after the harrowing planning process, was having an amazing time, and I just didn't want anything putting a damper on it. And then Yuzu himself just seemed so calm and ready, so with that I was completely at peace for the short. And he was oh so good there. I think it was helpful to have the free skates the next day because it didn't give me a chance to get nervous or feel doubt. I was in a pretty good place up until the last group hit the ice for the 6 min warm-up and then I thought I was going to be sick. But thankfully it all worked out. But I always have to find the recordings of his skates later so that I can watch completely stress free.

I feel the same. Every time I watch yuzu skate in competition all I can think of is him landing and rotating his jumps I can't even enjoy his stsq usually until after he got through his jumps. It's a bit ridiculous really and really does take away the joy of just purely watching him skate beautifully. And this is why I actually want yuzu to do ice shows /shot. I know some people here have mentioned that they rather have yuzu restrained from doing a bazillion ice shows lol [emoji23] I'm sure will get that in the future anyway.

I was staying at a backpacker at Helsinki and of course over half of the guest staying there came for yuzu. Whew, the atmosphere in the lounge area after the sp and the following day.... it was so subdued and I couldn't even distract myself properly with the other field because I could only afford tickets for the men and free dance. I took myself out of Helsinki for a day trip luckily and at lease able to stay sane before the free skate. I have to say for some reason I enjoyed watching men not including yuzu more at Helsinki than Pyeong Chang tho.

I felt that the field brought more emotion out of me than the Olympic. Maybe because I was also already resigned over yuzu that I'm a lot more relaxed and numb about the rest of the men or maybe I felt that they skated very businesslike. I was overjoyed for boyang but I didn't really feel anything out of my usual favs. With Helsinki, I remember enjoying and absolutely moved over the whole field. Maybe that's just me. Anyway, how did this post get this long... sorry [emoji52]
