Nathan Chen

I remember seeing this interview. He also mentioned that he didn't want to disappoint audience, because they deserved a good performance. He said he was also wondering if something wrong with the ice, so he did a tripple to check the ice and it was fine. The he just trusted his training.

Yup me too.

What he is saying is that if they planned 5 quads, they would stick to 5 quads regardless of what other competitors did in that competition. Some skaters play the game of adding or taking out jumps based on what previous skaters have done to minimize the level of risk while ensuring a win and looks like Raf is against that. This is something different than changing jump layout based on how Nathan *himself* feels on the day.

That’s my understanding too.

He’s doing the same hip hop move in his brother Tony’s post-OG insta story haha oh geeze but I give 10 points for looking so suave in the suit, wish to see him a lil more in formal attire maybe SI or Esquire can do an interview of him :D Skyping with someone? I don’t think he can even a double axel if he can’t use his phone for a day haha

Yes more suit photos please.
Someone on instagram posted a story showing that Nathan actually responded to her dm - just like 'thank youuu' though. I never would think to actually send him a message ?! lol

I sent Nathan a couple DM a few months ago on insta, never got read:biggrin: I gave up forever.:sad21: #hurtful :sad21::biggrin:

Thanks for sharing - and yes, he's too cute 😍
I personally liked his self-choreo 'Stole the Show' ex more than this one though :D

I love all of his programs so much, but ‘Stole the show’ is one of my favorite! I never foeget the moment that i saw that gala ,first time,in 4CC

Thanks for sharing. The camera does show better angles than the paid cameramen haha too bad ig can’t be projected through chromecast.

speaking of gala,
he may forget his choreo (like his forget his choreo in his FS),:sad21: that locking in the ending is gone.

Did you watched it in person:love:

my fav program is still Nathan's FS OG version, that program is too special for me. I became a seriously invested fan because of that program. I only became an uber fan this season after I watched Nathan's FS, before that I am a casual Nathan fan for years.
my fav EX of Nathan is parachute SA version.

i think Nathan's posture in "No good" and he somehow forgot his original choreo bugged me a bit. but he is very very hot in it tho.

@yyyskate Oh! Sure. I watched it in person. Absolutely fell in love with him, after i watched his programs in person at 4cc :)

And I watched 17teamtrophy, 17gpf, OG,too.
It is very honor to watch his great performace in live.

Again, I’m a lone wolf on this costume but this video shows how gorgeous his skating looks across the rink, the contrast is subtly brilliant. I wonder if the white neckline collar was paying tribute the orient and the host country.

Ok fine he get +3 GOE and a sprinkle of 💕 due to the hotness he brings in this EX. My fav EX is this one with a close Parachute because I like indie rock and this new choreography showcases the gradual maturing hotness and possible GOE we will see in the next few years so fasten your seatbelts world :) plus I love how the icy effect when he lazily “trips” (don’t know the term) in a straight line.

@oatmella I saw plenty unhappy faces about his OG FS costume so didn’t want to revisit it until I saw this video.
As for the magazine cover (if even possible haha) I like si or a sports magazine more because he’s an athlete who loves other sports, it’s a good vehicle to attract sports fans for he’s a great ambassador for the sport. Nathan was so stoked when Curry said he’s heard of him when his security was about to introduce Nathan and that he’ll be watching and rooting for him, boy I’m sure he had a huge smiley. The espn interview was quite nice considering they didn’t really cover much on Olympics and the female reporter who interviewed him is one of top espn interviewers, needless to say I was very happy. The swagger he has is something sports fans will be drawn to. Ok where’s Yuki direct extension?

Edit: yaas that pelvic thrust move wasn’t there, I think Shae-lyn should give him a pep talk as that’s an essential part man! A big deduction there lacking on CS. The famcam did show the second blowing kiss :)

Thank all to this thread I’ve been watching old Nathan videos. If you watch his nationals from last year compared this year’s nationals, you see this maturity with his movements. He’s now expressing every note and using his grace so well. I’m super proud of his progress.
