Daria Panenkova

I hope she does and I think she's got a better chance in seniors than juniors. This is her year before the 2004-quartet comes up and I think she knows it.
Russian seniors who will get GP spots for sure:
1. Medvedeva
2. Zagitova
3. Tsurskaya
4. Sotskova
5. Konstantinova
6. Radionova
7. Tuktamysheva
and then our girl Dasha
If we assume that Pogorilaya gets one, the Rostelecom host spot, then we'd need 4 of the 6 to invite 3 and the other 2 to invite 2. I'm not sure this will happen though... technically since being on the SB list only gives 1, and she's not currently on the WS our girl may be the first to slide. But I'd hope they'd reevaluate and give her the host spot if that happens.

Top 24 SB list guarantees only one spot, but skaters on that list ALWAYS got 2 spots in the past. And i don't see any reason why shouldn't Daria got 2.
About Anna Pogorilaya.... It doesn't look good for her.
She is out of top24 SB. and out of top24 WS....

18 spots is the maximum amount of GP spots any country can have which means that nine Russian skaters can get 2 GP events. That is the maximum.

One has to remember that those skaters who aren't guaranteed to get two GP events will have to get an invitation from the GP event organizers and not all the organizers want to invite three Russian skaters to their GP event. Most likely seven Russian skaters will get 2 GP events but I kind of doubt we will see nine Russian skaters getting 2 GP events.

Anna is 9th on the WS which means that she is guaranteed to get at least one GP event.

Yeah, I agree. She really should move to seniors now since she is guaranteed to get at least one GP event.

Pogo is also guaranteed to get one GP event since she is 9th on the WS.

this season Russian girls had 17 spots.

About WS.
Anna will be 26th.
unlike the SB list, the current World Standings isn't what will be looked at for the GP selection. the ISU will updates the World Standings to remove the oldest data (2015/16) and decrease the value of 2016/2017 data to 70% of its value. That World Standing list is what is used for GP selection.

Pogo is also guaranteed to get one GP event since she is 9th on the WS.
no. she is not.
Her SB will be 26th, and her WS is 77,
which means she did not earn any GP spot on her own.
the only GP spot she can get is the Host Pick.

It'd make more sense if Dasha only gets one invite to give her the host spot than give it to Anna, where each only have one
I just hope they see that

Today she wrote in her Instastory "It's time to close this book and start new one. Goodbye."
:scratch2: what does she mean?

I hope its just moving from juniors to seniors. It would be sad to top career before it really started...
By the way, her surname "Panenkova". In czech "panenka" means "doll". And she really looks a little like a doll :)

Oh yeah, it's probably juniors to seniors. Duh....
She still has all her "team Tutberidze" "team Russia figure skater" on her instagram profile so I think you're right

also, if she doesn't get 2 GPs and make the final, I will cry of frustration and anger and sadness. I WILL

I guess I was panic because of her "Goodbye", she updated Instastory - "Calm down, I'm not going to leave Eteri or Figure Skating".

I was rewatching Dasha's JGPF FS and the youtube comments of "underscored!" warmed my heart. Like, even casual fans can appreciate how wonderful she is. I just hope the judges do next year too

Am I wrong or Darya is now the oldest of Eteri's girls? I wonder if this will make any change in her position in the team...

Darya is half year younger than Alina, Alina's birthday is 18th may while Daria's is 8th december.

Is Daria an “original” Eteri student, or kind of new? Did Eteri start coaching her before or after puberty? Because many of the girls are super super tiny and I don’t know if that’s required to be in the group.
