Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

in 2013-2014 Daisuke did not even win a medal in Japan National but still their Federation consider him competing in Sochi, i wonder if some protested back then? was there also an argument?

anyway as they say we cannot please anyone..... and because we are living in the World that is not perfect we should expect a lot of bitter, unloved and bored individuals feasting in hating successful ones.

Jealousy is a disease lets just pray  and shrug it off :luv17:

the better way to fight the haters is not to give the attention that they want.

Just to be clear, I think the "crazy" is beyond a person being a fan of x or y skater. For what I know/ see most of the skaters in Japan (international too) get alone really well, but are the "fans" that create these conspiracies/ false stories that fit their sick narrative.

The people that complained weren´t precisely fans of the skater that was in 3rd place (Mura), but people that have dislike Yuzuru from the beginning, and no matter what he does, or stop doing their opinion won´t change.

But I will agree that self control is very important, not to engage with the "hater" is the best way to react, they crave attention and to call the fan "crazy", so if they get attention that gives them power.

Since Yuzuru touched the subject yesterday, I'd like to say my point of view.

I think Yuzuru was not only talking about the haters/mean fans on SNS but also the the tabloid articles. I remember he said in one of the press con after PC Olympics, "I'll be getting more fake(?) articles from now on". He is wise, he knew this was coming, sadly. And these tabloids are not only about Yuzuru himself, but also his family, his team, and his fans, and these articles have been pleasing the Japanese antis. It is vicious cycle. So as for me, I'm doing what I can do. I can't stop the writers doing their job, so I'm trying not to spread strange articles on SNS. When I find the antis spreading the fake facts about Yuzuru and his surroundings, I just report. I sometimes feel I want to fight with them (hehe), but if we had a fight, it would be us who get the attacks by the media because we are many, and antis are happy and it is vicious cycle again.

Sorry for spoiling the mood here, but I felt that international fans may need some explanations on Yuzuru's comment in the show. I was sad when I read the report, but at the same time, I was a little glad that he was feeling our love and supports.

Today is the last day of CiONTU but the weather is terrible :eeking: But I think the fans and the skaters don't care  Just hoping they're going to have safe trips!

I agree with you Yude, and I hope you have a safe trip to the theater!
Enjoy the show!

Here's a glimpse of MI2 and PW

And an Interview with Yuzu. I don't understand Japanese, but he talkes about 4A again.

Here is a clip with Zigeunerweisen from yesterday:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFe23D9rvBU
If it has been posted already, I apologize. Too much CWW content at the moment

It's so great to see Yuzu's happy face when he's skating! I like the determined and serious Yuzu, too, but his smile makes me relax and think: everything's all right :hap93:

The video cut off, but Yuzu said that he was part of the Ohtani generation. It's a way they complement each other. Ohtani says he is part of the Hanyu generation. Right now, athletes born in 1994 are proving to be the strongest group of athletes Japan has ever had. Lots of World Champions, Olympic Champions are born in 1994, and Yuzu and Ohtani are considered the leaders of the group.

While watching the show that's airing before Continues, Mitsuki Sumoto's program was airing, and before that he showed off his collection of guess what?
Many, many of Yuzu's clear-files. His room is full of Yuzu posters, and his favorite program of Yuzu's is Romeo and Juliet no.1
It is his goal to compete with Yuzu in Seniors.

Yuzu's Notte Stelata from Rostelecom 2017 has just aired, and now GPF 2017 Nathan's up.

It make me emotional to read what he said, I didn’t expect him to bring it up, but he did, he want us to know he cares. Very appreciate, Yuzu.

My obsession with R&J 1.0 is endless, but I suspect we might see R&J 2.0, since Johnny is here too. That was a Oly gold medal moment, but definitely not Yuzu’s favourite gold medal moment. It will be last day, so should be some programs really meaningful to him :luv17: I can’t wait for tomorrow ~

R&J 1.0 is probably my favorite program of Yuzu's. Seimei is more refined and personal, but R&J 1.0 was such a dynamic and attention grabbing program. That step sequence is so iconic:luv17:.

the Nice WC step sequence is chilling, even now. :drama:
What will he skate today?
https://twitter.com/nobutaro1001/status/985361208495652864 Nobu has his press-pass and is ready to commentate.

https://twitter.com/liliorum/status/985363389953306624 For those who can't use the link posted before, this one is also available. Not sure how Rabbit streams work...:cool14: but lots of people use them with no problems.
https://twitter.com/tegomass/status/985219646340116481 Many more rabbit streams.
It starts in 10 minutes!

https://twitter.com/axelsandwich/status/985365402959130624 @axelsandwich is also going to be doing some running translations (simple ones) as the show is broadcast. So take a look at that thread.
I will also be doing a few translations here and there, but the usual disclaimers apply.
If they talk to fast, or are not clear, I'll completely loose the flow.
