Nathan Chen

Marveling at the fs post - “what incredible command he has over his entire body.“ so much joy when non fans see what we see, this is the reason why Nathan is evolving the sport by pushing the technical boundaries while growing the mastery of performing arts in dance and music.

+1 HS dances/parties have hip grinds.
I wouldn't say this particular poster is a non-fan. And I'm sure there are many more Nathan fans outside of this ff. ;) Many skating fans have watched and followed Nathan for years as he showed so much promise so young.

I've been googling to see what kind of arrangement Nathan could possibly have with Walmart, and it turns out that gymnast Laurie Hernandez partnered with Walmart and P&G last year to promote Febreeze at Walmart stores.

They also had her come do a meet and greet at a local gym in Arkansas.

Some Nathan info from Raf.

Arutunian said he and Chen, who have worked together seven years, discussed some possibilities during the three days Chen skated in Lakewood last week during a break in the Stars on Ice tour.

"It looks like he wants to do both (study and skate), and he's smart enough, (so) if he understands it won't work, he will do something," Arutunian said. "He doesn't want to look bad at competitions.

"Summer time, he definitely wants to spend with me, and that will give us three months of hard work. He asked if I might be able to go there (to the Yale area) before competitions, maybe (for) six or 10 days."

sounds like he's open the idea?

Rest of the article is about his new students and old students.

Chinese Nathan fan posted a very rare Photo of Nathan with a fan at Walmart.
in this photo, Nathan is doing finger heart.:luv17:
I hope you can see this photo.(link does not work..)

I wonder who they 2 Chinese skaters are.

I honestly have faith he can do it? He's super smart/talented and has good technique. So it wouldn't be impossible for him to basically cram in training before competition, work really hard during the summer months and work on his own during school. Or find someone who can help him with SS and other things around New Haven. And like Raf said, if it doesn't work out he'll figure it out too.

rumor has it , Han Yan from China has made the arrangement to train with Raf, but Han is also forced to retire lately (also rumor has it).

On info from the Phill interview is that Ensoo Lim from Korea will train with Raf.
I think many Lim's fans would not be happy about this choice like Marin's fans. Many have hoped to send Lim to Team BO among Korean's promising skaters to smooth out her long lines and give her some lyrical touch. But Lim is a huge Ash's fan so I don't know. Whoever cares may wanna check out Lim's FF.

Nathan's training situation is still tricky and dicey.

sending skaters to oversea training are mainly Federation's decision. thus it mostly depend on fame and the buzz.
Nathan's huge success is the only reason.
Raf's other star skaters such as Ash, Adam etc. never brought him so many high profile over-seas's student(with money). Raf really should be thankful to Nathan.

but I am a little worried about Raf's priority now, with so many high profile students at hands. who will be his priority.
I think it used to be Ash/Adam, just recently changed into Nathan. what's now.

Honda and Eunsoo trained at lakewood with Raf before. (In vacation season.) So maybe It does not make big difference.

And Skaters from Oversea are given very few choices in many other reasons.Since Lakewood is positive for foreigners, so it works to their choice ( Also , There is no dought that Nathan’s sucess affected huge. )

The icenetwork article says it's two upcoming Chinese mens skaters in preparation of Beijing 2022. Han Yan might be too old for this?

Also, Raf has coached Mao Asada, Michelle Kwan, and Jeff Buttle etc, not exactly no name skaters. He has also worked with many high profile skaters and foreign skaters including Russian and Japanese have always come to him during off seasons for specialty training. So I don't know if you can say this is entirely due to Nathan.

I still think Nathan's success is the big drive behind. Fingers crossed for these 2 young ladies, like I posted before in this FF. remember other promising lady's cases.

I heard about that rumor about Yan-han, But it was few years ago. Raf accepted him, but chinese federation denied that decision.
