Regarding the GP assignments - my impression is that the decisions are majorly made by the inviting host federations, and that while skaters from the top 6 at WC can state their wishes, it doesn't mean they actually get what they want. And well, given the way things work, the people who put in the $$$ get to decide, so... That said, I wouldn't worry about Yuzu not getting assignments he's pretty content with. He's the biggest name out there right now, sells the tickets and gets the TV ratings. And I would be surprised if he wasn't at NHK. TV ratings for WC were actually relatively low in Japan (only around 10%), and you know Yuzu would crush that. And NHK would want that. If he wants no back-to-back GPs, CoC & CoR are out (and relatively unlikely anyway, given Russia has Mika and Yuzu's last stint to the chinese GP). SA has Nathan and might want to avoid the competition, so SC or IdF it is. We already know Didier wants Yuzu in France, and SC has invited him all these years when they had Patrick, I wouldn't see a reason why they wouldn't now. So maybe Yuzu can choose there between what he wants most.
Regarding Yuzu & Shoma at NHK - I don't think either of the two men would be scared of the competition. And it's relatively hard to not have them meet at the same event - NHK has to have one of Nathan, Shoma & Mika, and Mika does CoR right the week after NHK. If he wants to avoid back-to-back GPs too, he won't be in NHK. Then there is the speculation Nathan might want SA & IdF since that's best for his Yale studies, which would already only leave Shoma for NHK. And if Yuzu & Shoma have to meet on the GP, I'd bet the JFed would prefer it to be on their soil, not SC or IdF.
Also, regarding NA fans getting a chance to see Yuzu live - guys, you have the GPF in Canada next season
and 4CC is in Anaheim I think. So you do have possibilities either way

I love the one from 4 years ago, he looked really nice in that jacket (JSF jacket?). Wonder what he will wear this year?? I saw news that hotels in Sendai are all booked up!!
