yup... pretty much, the goal is to keep skating for a long time, which she thinks another environment can provide. I can see the RusFed liking this plan too... They have tons of Eteri girls to rely on.. but what if it were possible to also have one great and competitive skater for many years to come? One who would hold the fort when the guard is changing. She is only 18... could even get to 2026.... wise motivations

Nah... one does not suddenly become mature and artistic over one season, it is a process, a journey, about how you move forward from the safe comfort zone. You are supposed to experiment, try new things, takes risks and eventually figure out for yourself what is your ideal skating - not skating for points. Sometimes you can get lucky with an inspired program package that elevates your development into something beyond, like Wakaba with Skyfall last year, but as much as I absolutely adore that program and performance, I wouldn't call her artistic or mature yet either, but deserve huge improvements in PCS. She definitely deserves higher PCS than Alina for examples, I can't explain the 6 points separate them with Alina ahead chasing from behind early in the season doing the exact same Junior program.

Be curious what Shaelyn may do with her...

Welcome to Canada Evgenia!

Toronto is a great city. I lived there for 2 years. Lots to do, lots to see, lots to experience. Is it wrong that I sort of see this as when a young person leaves home and goes off to college? This will be Evgenia's chance to spread her wings and flourish out of the spotlight. Maybe what she wants is more freedom to be and has to move away from home to get it. At 18 a lot of us were itching to get out and get on with our lives. Later on you realize everything your parents did for you and think "wow I wish I'd realized that with freedom comes responsibility".

I wish Evgenia the best and whatever her future holds I hope she is happy and fulfilled.

Why do all believe that Yuzu and Zhenya are friends, real deal friends and are just not nice to each other as grown people with proper education? What is this myth all the shippers and non-shippers are trying to create in their heads? They are not friends, they will not go out for lunch in Toronto, Yuzu never did that with Javi and they were closer to each other as Zhenya never will be.
So what if they had fun at some Gala rehearsals and such? It is not what friendship is all about.

It's not a myth. Zhenya, Misha Ge and Yuzuru have been seen together in many FS events and banquets. Prior mass deletion, Zhenya had many photos on her IG with them, when she talked about 'my favourite guys' or something like that. When asked in an interview, Misha confirmed the three of them are good friends and compared their friendship with Harry/Ron/Hermione from Harry Potter. Now, of course that doesn't mean Zhenya and Yuzuru will be hanging out together in Toronto. But, frankly, this is their business, not ours.

Wasn´t there a documentary/ article where was stated that she was having problems landing her jumps... so I guess people are assuming

i don't think orser can provide this exclusively... or else Lil Bet would go up in PCS much faster than she has. Wakaba had a great LP at worlds. She is just in her second season and has blown it a few times, including for Japanese Nationals.... I don't think international judges are involved with Wakaba's mistakes and her non-qualification for Olympics.... Wakaba will get higher scores this season with or without Orser, if she keeps skating the way she did at worlds... just like the other girls who are winning events get higher scores. I like Wakaba's skating. I think she is my favourite in current Japanese ladies and by far. I don't think she is underscored though. She is young and there are a few things she can easily improve in her projection and connection. YNNV

There’s no way he won’t. Why would she go to him if not for that? She even said she wants to try new methods. Also, I think not implementing his technique on her goes against everything he believes in.

imo that would stain his name as a coach. BO students have mostly very good technique.

They were close enough that they are widely shipped around the the world with stories being written and posted about them. Besides there’s different definitions of friendship like Medvand Yuzu live in separate continents so obviously not besties but they can still be fiends and enjoy each other’s company.
