Great, thanks! About the shipping - if you buy multiple items in one order, does each item get charged for shipping separately? Also it seems to offer me several shipping choices :confused2: so I guess I'll just go for whatever seems reasonable (don't mind waiting for it)!

I noticed that the price for shipping does go up when you order several items, so I agree with what Bel said above.

Thanks so much Arriba, MaiKatze and Hronop!

I bought the calender from Amazon Japan. At first it offered a lot of shipping options but then when I filled my address (Europe) it only offered one option and it was by DHL. If I remember correctly the shipping price did go up if I added items. Very fast and easy delivery.

Belated welcome to you and all the other new Shomajesty's subjects! :hap10:

Thank you (& for the welcome)! :)

[emoji39] Welcome to the Shoma fanfest, arineko and Old Cat Lady!! I'm a little amused that you both have cat/neko to your names!

Lol, didn't even notice that! Cat lovers unite! Thanks. Everyone is so friendly here!

I was disappointed Shoma isn't in Fantasy on Ice. I saw the crazy costumes and was looking forward to seeing his new program

He was too busy practicing his baseball pitch and batting, then going over to Chiba to watch planes race and to meet celebrities. [emoji1] Shoma living the celeb life.

I hope we get to see the Great Spirits ex on June. The Nagano ice show is already next weekend!! Not too long now. [emoji16]

It seems that "many" celebrities/ people met Shoma at the Red Bulls Air Race:

(Please wait for yawning shoma or sb else in twitter for translation :P)

Again, Shoma was describes as "a very polite person" :-)

Here is the summary of the translation by yawning shoma just as you predicted 🤣

She is a shamisen player...that's so cool. I love the sound of shamisen

I'm looking forward to the new programs too! In my head I was thinking Sparkle from Kimi No Na Wa would be perfect for him, but maybe he already listens to the soundtrack a lot :)

At first I wanted to see him in FaOI as well but he has taken part in several other ice shows and I'm glad he's taking a break now and enjoying himself!

^^^And of course, I have NO CLUE what a shamisen is. Looked it up -- a 3 stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument. What an education I'm getting here in this thread!

:otopic: Hi guys, sorry to jump in. The news of Kolyada, Boyang and Jason Brown training in different places (temporarily and permanently) got me to wonder... Has Shoma, at any point, trained alongside any of fellow top contenders? I don't think I've ever heard of such instances but I may have missed something so please enlighten me. Thank you! :)

I don't think so but maybe someone who has been following him for longer can give a better answer to that.

I personally don't think that it's a good idea for so many top skaters to be trained by the same coaching teams but we'll see.

Well, Mao Asada 'discovered' Shoma, her work ethic was formative for Shoma. But current top contenders in men? No.

Personally I think it's better to focus on your own performance in a highly individual sport anyway. It's not a team sport and it doesn't do any good to always look at what others are doing. Especially if you're pretty unique like Shoma.

Totally agree. It looks like Shoma will be an outsider next season 🤣

Yeah, it definitely depends on each skater's preference and the results would differ from one skater to the next. Shoma has been doing fine so I wasn't thinking that he would need it or anything either :)

It's actually not the norm to work with fellow 'top' contenders and it's not as easy as the 'bromance' of Yuzuru/Javier seems to imply. And Kolyada goes to Arutunian for two weeks. Shoma goes abroad for jump coaching in Chicago with Alex Ourashiev during summer too. He doesn't have any big name students, but Shoma's jumps improved since then, and I believe that's more important than having another quadster in your training group. Shoma's interviews make it clear that he's aware of what his problems are and how to work on them. It's not like he's totally isolated, or only has girls as rinkmates, his friend Kotaro Takeuchi did come to Chicago with him, for example. Granted, he is not on Shoma's level.

What is clear is that Shoma is very loyal to his coaches, and especially to Mihoko-sensei, who also choreographs for him, so it's very unlikely that he will change coaches. I also think he is happy to stay in Japan, and to be close to his family (and I'm not sure he would like to live alone, since apparently, sharing an apartment with his brother failed, so they came back home )
What I think a lot of us would like would be for him to have a permanent jumping coach at his rink.
In the end, what matters is that each skater finds the right environment to feel at ease. :)

Fact is that we don't really know what Shoma does jumping wise at his rink, because we have no insights to his training. I bet a lot of people think that Mihoko Higuchi is the only coach of Shoma. We don't know a 100% who else is involved. Last season we saw Coach Fluffy filming Shoma's jumps on her tablet and analysing them with Shoma - perhaps even keeping the data for later training. Shoma learned the 3 Axel through grit and determination and thousands of falls and failures. Because it was so hard he actually landed his 4T before the Triple Axel. I think it was said that Takahito Mura gave the advice to try the 4T? Shoma is the eternal son of Team Japan. I'm certain that they get input from several other coaches as well. It's just not that communicated to the outside, because it's Japan.

Yup, Shoma talked w/ Mura regarding he couldn't jump 3A, then Mura suggested "why don't u learn 4T first?" so Shoma trained 4T. Shoma also asked Mao how to jump 3A but Mao's answer couldn't enlighten Shoma (well Mao was talking about the "feeling" when jumping 3A so :P). I think everyone in Team Japan treats Shoma very nice (take care of him/ give advice etc.)
