Alena Kostornaia

I hope she gets her 3A and maybe a quad. The arms race in the ladies field looks like it's about to heat up real soon and it will be brutal. Since this girl is literally going to be the only reason I watch skating for the next 4 years...I hope she stays competitive on the technical side of things. No hate, but everyone else right now is just so....meh. What a revelation, and a once in a generation talent she is.

Has Alena always flutzed? I don't have a good enough eye to pick out a flutz at speed yet, but I'm curious if anyone who's seen older videos of her can tell whether it's something she struggled with under her former coach too?

it's usually flat, but not inside

You dont want to watch Anna and Sasha too? Yes Alena is the loveliest skater combining artistry and technical skill like no other. It will be interesting see Alena and the others develope. I hope they dont have to wait until they are 17 to become senior level.

I think she will be ready. She knows she needs to try her best to be able to beat the quad girl(s).. ;)

Where is her holiday?

Training camp starts soon. I hope Alena is ready for the next season.

Alena is in Antalya, Turkey.
I am looking forward to see her 3A in comps; even if she won't jump quads, imo she'll always have the advantage of her amazing skating skills, her grace and the emotions that are showed on the ice are unrivaled in the junior category (maybe only by Anna Shcherbakova), and also her consistency...I watched and re-watched many of her past-season's performances, and I was so impressed..she is so consistent, even in her EX programs. :eeking: I think she has a positive mindset and the right attitudine, so she will be alright :luv17:

I‘m strongly rooting for Alena to take the lead over juniors next season! Go and get them, girl! Her skate‘s just so graceful, she doesn‘t look like a junior at all. When she‘s on the ice at least. In the K&C, when she‘s next to her coaches or at the Ex you see how tiny she really is. But when she‘s skating: Nope, size doesn‘t matter then. Then it‘s all about her and she‘s grace, pure grace. I really, really hope she‘ll get to rock seniors soon!
