And the Japanese girls which I frankly don‘t know a lot about.
I fear Kihira in France. She just got out of juniors, and Zhenya had not competed with her before. With pure skating with 3A, the Rika is very dangerous.Well, in Canada we have Gabby and Wakaba as the main threats. Especially Gabby, since it‘s in Canada so they‘ll try to push her. Panenkova.. It‘s her first senior season so PCS will be in no range to challenge Zhenya‘s. Tuktamysheva could be a threat, if she lands her 3A but well... Zhenya still has her PCS advantage and if there isn‘t much that changes, she‘ll be as mentally tough as ever and land her jumps!
In France we have Carolina of course. If she lands everything, which is a bit doubtful with her. And the Japanese girls which I frankly don‘t know a lot about. Overall, I‘d say she should do fine. As you said, she won against these skaters even while injured so I‘m not that worried. And if she doesn‘t come in first in one competition... as long as she gets to the GPF, everything should be fine. Besides, she‘s doing the same GPs as Jason, which is just great. They’ll be there to support each other!!![]()
Incredible ladies.
Kihira is bringing the 3A as solo and 3A+3T as combo in the free and she's been doing them pretty consistently. I don't know what Mai has on the table for the new season but if it is on par with the old one, then depends on her PCS. She is habitually underscored and cannot approach Zhenya there. Marin Honda was very hyped and imploded last season but is now training with Raf. She has very good components so it'll depend on the rest.
It's by no means an easy GP, what with Costner there and Bradie who will have the full force of USFSA behind her as their #1.

Yeah, I know it‘s probably weird that I don‘t know them. But to be honest, I‘ve never been that invested in Japanese figure skating, except for Yuzu and Wakaba. But what you‘re writing sounds... impressive, quite impressive. Maybe I should watch them more often. :O So, has Kihira landed her 3A-3T in any actual competition?
It benefit her? Will it benefit her competition?
I think even if her consistency isn’t up to her usual Zhenya should be able to podium without major difficulties. A big question mark though is there new COP and how it will be applied - will
It benefit her? Will it benefit her competition?

Besides, I think the new judgement system would be good for Zhenya, so...We have to wait and see. For one, I expect very uneven judging until the system gets going. And second, we don't know what she'll bring to the table in the TES part. I expect she will continue with very high PCS scores but next season we already know of two triple Axel ladies minimum (and at least two more who are going to try) which opens up their triples more for a high TES.
Best wait and see. I am pretty zen, first season after the rules change is always messy but her PCS should hold, so I don't foresee trouble when it comes to staying among the top ladies.
Yes, she definitely needs to up her tech and she has stated that she wants to... idk what she can add already next season. Realistically a -3Lo combo and ~maybe~ an improved lutz so more of it?

Lz is a tough one, I don't think that'll be an easy fix and one off season probably isn't enough. Maybe if they can at least get it to be consistently ! then they can think about it.
A -3Lo combo is what remains then but I honestly have no idea how doable that is (I am talking about the general issues with this combination which aren't small). It's definitely the most straightforward way to up her TES and seems like something to aim for if she is healthy enough for this first season. Just bringing that would be good, as she's be progressing in the eyes of the judges and with her PCS it'd give her a very nice cushion if she can rotate it.
In FAOI it was clear that she was shaky even in her simplest triples.

Kihira can have all 3A's in combinations she wants, but if she keeps making POP in competition and can not land them, it's no use to her. In FAOI it was clear that she was shaky even in her simplest triples. The girl will need more than one GPF to be REALLY dangerous. :
do not be deluded.
What a pleasant way of communicating, so I think I'll pass.
