I thought the Cinderella program suited Mai.

It would not, of course, suit Wakaba. At all. Hopefully she'll get something that fits her. Something fierce.:)

For Wakaba? If Sano is using the terms properly then we're not talking disco/funk. We're talking Piaf or Jacques Brel or anything in between.
 
After Skyfall it will be difficult to do better I will not judge the program before having seen but the description makes me septic I hope I will not be bored.

I wonder what is this "nostalgic" music that's vague
 
Chanson? French lyrical songs from the 40s?

May be something by Edith Piaf? Although in Japan, there this singer who does Old Piaf songs with Japanese lyrics. 越路吹雪
 
If they meant the music genre Chanson that’s going to be a huge departure from Skyfall and I honestly wouldn’t want them to use Edith Piaf. Maybe from the discography of Leo Marjane (specifically fhe song I’ame au Diable). But I lean towards the group band Chanson here like sapphire mentioned and crossing my finger that they use a music from their earlier album (ok, I just want Wakaba to skate to All The Time You Need).

If neither the two, I have no idea which Chanson they are referring to.

Anyways, I really like the music choice for the SP. Bourne doesn’t disappoint when it comes to exploring different music :laugh:

Everyone goes straight to Piaf so I'm hoping it's someone else. There are so many to choose from!

Anyway, I'd say it's a good contrast to the SP.
 
Personally, whilst a bit dubious, I'm waiting to find out which French song it is - and which version of it it is - before making up my mind.

Hopefully Wakaba will be able to say:

Non, je ne regrette rien.

;) (Although that makes me think of Inception - and that makes me think how I would love an Inception program for Wakaba!)
 
Weren't Wakaba's LP hinted to be something classical, but not ballet earlier on? Maybe it's something like Chopin's "Chanson de l'adieu".

Perhaps further information from Coach Sano's tweet helps to clarify: he says that Wakaba's new SP and FS are of nice contrast: SP is of modernism and FS is 'nostalgic' and now we're only sure her new FS is of chanson type of music. (Also, it seems that Wakaba is training at Jingu arena and Sano is the head coach there, so that's why he gets to know about Wakaba's music....he probably saw her practicing in his rink.)

according to the protocol of his competition last week Wakaba had a level 3 on his sequence of steps and one! on his 3F.


WakaHFans's twitter also gives hints about the Wakaba team that I find interesting, at least they work on his nerves.

Thanks for the protocols! Judging based on the GOE this is actually the new scoring. New GOE for 2A +2 is +0.66 when it used to be +1.00. Interestingly they did not go into the upper score ranges at all (+4, +5). Very interesting because I think Wakaba's 2A is at least a +3 or +4 in the new system but without seeing the program I can't fully judge it.

it was not a mix with the old system? I hope that once the SP clean she will have 3+ or 4+ it's a pity she loses points with her pops and her 3F.

For his Free program "Chanson" refers to a French song, I cross the doight so that it is not Jacques Brel, Johnny Halliday, Edith Piaf, Celine Dion, Hélène Ségara I love his artists but not in skate in my opinion only Carolina Kotsner and Kaethlyn Osmond skate perfectly on it, so I would not want it to be detrimental to Wakaba.
