Wow, that's a good guess, but wouldn't he be giving up quite a few days of training with Raf if they do that?

I'm already wondering if there's any possibility of Raf coming to Japan to continue training Marin, Nathan and Mariah during the week between The Ice week 1 and The Ice week 2. If you think about all the traveling Nathan's done for shows, choreography, etc., how much time did he really get with Raf on site this summer? And he'll only overlap with Kolyada at most 2 or 3 weeks, because there's Champs Camp and then the day after Champs Camp ends, moving in to the dorms for freshmen and college registration.

That is a brilliant idea for Raf to go to Japan a week since iirc, Mariah is also invited to the Ice. Thank you skfan for floating the idea. It will be quite cost effective as Romain will probably be going with Mariah if Raf goes to Japan to train them. But this is just our wishful thinking which will never happen. Raf or Team Nathan really needs someone like you to help planning everythingto maximize his time with Raf :biggrin:.Nathan said that he would have 4 months with Raf in the summer, but really didn’t know if half of that time spent with Raf this summer with all theses shows and sponsorship obligations. On top of that, Raf was away for a clinic for several days.

I have this question which I asked before. What it takes for Shae Lynn to come to Lakewood for choreography? She had done that for Ashley before right? Nathan, Mariah and Marin went to Carolina Ice Palace several weeks in a row. It would save them quite some time and money to invite Shae Lynn to Lakewood. But it might be Shae-Lynn is in much better demand now than before???

Mika is coming next week for two weeks right? I read his interview talking about summer camps he went to or planning, and getting choreography from Lambiel and little other things he learned from him during his stay there. He mentioned going to summer camp in Japan, which at the time of reading, prompted me to think if there is any camp or possibility for Nathan to go to one during that week in Japan.

I get the feeling that Nathan and Raf are already doing the whole long distance coaching thing. Nathan seems noticeably more intense this summer compared to this time last year, and it makes sense for them to give it a try right now to see what parts of their arrangement work and what parts may need further adjustment.
 
Just a note for those coming this week to see Nathan in Sun Valley.

Consider bringing a blanket or jacket/hoodie or even both as it gets quite chilly quickly around the time the show starts (sundown).

Some people thought the person in front of Nathan in yesterday's IGS was Mom but I thought the gait was a bit too manly, and that was a really big backpack!
