all right, I'm sorry, but I have a one-track mind. Stephanee Grosscup commented on Nathan's IG and says 'you are going to be here soon!'

...and that got me thinking... Is there a possibility all three Chen brothers are heading to Sun Valley *with Bolt*? After all from the Sun Valley webcams it would seem the outdoor recreations at Sun Valley are World Class, to say the least. Nathan's brothers would have lots to explore and enjoy.

Is there a vague hope that Ic3Rabbit or Mamamiia will capture Lifetime Channel worthy footage of Nathan cuddling Bolt at Sun Valley during practice sessions and share with us? I'm only talking about the dog cuddling, not the skating, so that shouldn't be against any rules. From what I've seen of Angela's social media, she will give Bolt a healthy cuddle herself.

I did a google map check of Thousand Island Lake, because I only know of Thousand Island Dressing, and Thousand Island Lake is near Sacramento. If you stretch your imagination a bit, they *could* be on the way to Idaho and Sun Valley. *nod nod*

I doubt they will arrive sun valley earlier than Friday. Because of the competition the ice time is very limited. I imagine Nathan still trains veey hard almost everyday...
 
Karen's doing one of those Q&A's that everyone's been doing on their IGS lately, and someone asked her if Nathan was her brother. Her answer: "Sure."
 
Nathan's new IG picture is gorgeous! It's ready to be printed on any outdoor lifestyle magazines:love:. The smile is priceless, his best "off ice smile" I have seen.:love:

And his brothers would have to take a whole week off work/grad school, etc. Thanks for gently bringing me back to reality :)


I still wish Raf would go with Nathan to Japan to train Nathan, Marin and Taichi Honda, Mariah Bell and possibly Romain Ponsart as well, but if it’s true that he and Nathan have been doing dry runs of remote coaching to work out the technical difficulties, that could be a good thing. On the other hand, are there still *more* difficulties to be solved--why continue this experiment beyond basic trouble shooting? Wouldn’t it be better to actually get on site coaching whenever possible?

It's over 900 miles from there to here and there is no direct route unless you go out to Fresno and come up from there still over 900 miles and about a 13 hour road trip which is alot.

Even if they were to do that, you aren't going to get much of anything except for written observations here from myself, I am too busy on the ice and with other things to track another skater while he's here(not being rude, it's just the reality of things). You may get things on social media from Stephanee or Angela (especially if Bolt is here), but I wouldn't rely on it. Sorry.:confused2:

You are correct that there are many things to do in the area. At the resort itself for the summer there is: Golf, biking, horseback riding, trails, bowling, sport shooting, tennis, water activities, fitness activities, the ballet, musical events, movies, shopping etc. :cool2:

Yes, that's from the twitter fc folks. (I believe there are a few people collaborating on the site.) Since it's an "official" fc their blogs are a little more neutral in tone, while some of other other blogs are wee bit fangirlish. LOL

Hi everyone, i'm a newbie here. This is my very first post in this forum, so pardon me if i shouldn't be doing this (i mean immediately post in a skater thread).
Just recently i begin to develop a fondness for Nathan. Especially since i saw his Nemesis program at DOI 2018. I've watch the same program before, but that time he hasn't really captured my heart (tho i go gaga for his cuteness long way before). And my ultimate fave skater all of the time is Yuna Kim (and i also like Yuzuru). Anyway, i feel like i want to rant a little bit but i'm afraid this won't be allowed... From what i've read from this forums (i already read pages here i couldn't remember), he seems a hard worker. I know he might still have weaknesses here and there (like 3A, and he still working on improving his artistry), BUT what i don't get it why fans from other skaters keep on bashing him. As if he doesn't deserve to be in his place right now alongside with yuzuru, boyang and the likes? I truly believe Nathan has the potential! And i even sometimes feel he has similar musicality or aura with Yuna (i dunno this just what i feel :p). And what irk me the most maybe those people who accuse nathan, actually defend other skaters who had more problems with their techniques (and still got the scores inflated). Those accusations made me wanna cheer and root for him even more. So yeaaay, now i have a skater that I truly willing to root for the next OGM contender! Go Nathan! Pardon me for venting here. Nice to meet you all, and i LOVE seeing the discussion in this thread, carry on guys! I learn a lot about Nathan. And shout out to some of Yuna Kim's die hard fans, i've been lurking to Yuna's thread the most XD.
 
Welcome yuzuna! The things you ranted about happen in the edge forum. Ignore them. This is the fanfest and safe place for fans to talk about specific skaters. Feel free to gush about Nathan here. :)
 
Yes, welcome, Yuzuna!

As Ic3Rabbit explained, the Fan Fest is an "all positive" zone. It's considered very ill mannered on GS to go to a skater's Fan Fest and criticize the skater.

The Edge is a much more free-wheeling forum. Opinions are fine, but push-back is fair game... although we do try to keep it respectful, unless someone writes something completely bone-headed.

Both the forums are fun - although I like Edge better.
 
Hi Yuzuna - welcome to Nathan’s FF :)

A few of us here have noticed that Nathan has some similarities/similar aura to Yuna - in musicality, movement/dance quality (and picking up choreography quickly) and innate charisma - also introverted personality.

As for the Nathan haters - seems that they are fans of other skaters and see Nathan as a threat to their favorites, or just have a different preference. The bashing can get quite intense at times though (and rude)!

Does anyone know what kind of breed is Bolt? I showed his pix to a couple of friends and they said he's a Samoyed (probably because of the white fur) but to me his face looks much more like an Japanese Akita (the same breed as the goodest boy Hachiko whose statue Nathan posted in his instastory recently :biggrin:). Bolt is soooooo adorable!!!

I would think they would bring a tripod, esp. if aiming to take picture of breathtaking nature, or attempting time lapse photography, etc. Now I'm wondering if Mom came with the three brothers at all.
