Former ice dancer Ivan Volobuev has passed the ISU examination to become an International Technical Specialist last week.
I think he works with Zhuk/Svinin group.

He was brilliant. I wish he had partenered with Khokhlova instead of her chosing Andreev back in the day..

She chose Marina and Igor which was smart! I really believed in that partnership because of the fact that Russia was choosing to have a team training with the best coaches in the world! It’s too bad andreev got injured too. But it’s like with z/g now trying to do all the right things but Russia wants Russians trained by Russians in Russia or it’s not real success!! Which is sad because tarasova trained g/p in America and Linichuk trained d/s in America! Now it’s all about s/b being trained by svinan and zhuk in Russia! Why? S/z are a weak weak weak coaching team that don’t know anything about ijs.

Today the junior test skate will start. I hope we shall have some reports on the short dances.

Hoping to see Shevchenko/Eremenko's new programs, I think they may be my favourite Russian ice dance couple, junior or senior in the current field. They have great musicality. I enjoyed the innovation in their free dance last season.

A little part:
Marina Zoueva was always weighting me, I developed fear of it. Before weighting, i was removing all the hair acessories and jewellery, and ran to the toilet to, god forbid, don't have an extra gram. I cried. But I desperately wanted to skate. I needed to keep myself in shape at any cost. I bent myself thanks to Marina.
When training was over, in the evening, I wore pants, 3 hoods, and once a week even wrapped myself in (??? polyethilene) film, and ran for an hour non stop. Dried myself heavily.
First, i did one diet, then another, then a third one, the started eating just rice. Later i simply got crazy about it, weighting myself four times a day. It was not normal.

This is called desperation my dear. When you're employed by the Russian Mafia, erhem, Federation, results must be guaranteed. LOL. The best part was the shade throwing at Ilinykh.

I wonder if she recalls that Nikita and Elena were an item, way back then.

Us vain, fickle women. You have to smile and snicker to yourself while reading. ;)
 
last year since I saw them, they really had very good basics

Finally a russian dancers that ticks all the boxes
skating skills, speed, expressions, good levels

they actually look more north american trained than in russia
they are a blend Chock / Bates and Ilinykh / Katsalapov

Also Elizaveta SHANAEVA / Devid NARYZHNYY took silver. I follow him in instgram but I haven't known that he will be at the JGP in Bratislava lol
Devid is hot) We need a new fan fest for this dance team

Does anyone have links to their test skates? I have only seen some pictures on Instagram posted on their FF. They are competing next week in Linz.
 
Does anyone know whether Loboda and Drozd have gotten new partners and plan to keep competing?
