By the way, you guys saw Meagan Duhamel saying that Wakaba was her favorite lady last season?
I was like, yassssss, we all love Wakababy!!! She’s powerful, she has the jumps, the performance, the right music, the good programs! What’s not to like, right?? [emoji23]

I can't stand Meagan Duhamel so i missed that xD but yeah Wakaba is one heck of a fantastic skater! powerful and graceful at the same time. I'm completely in love with her. I don't know if the 3A she's so seriously working on right now will pay off tho. That footage of the summer camp with her 3A attempts was pretty scary and not really promising. I feel like she'd benefit from trying to have more difficult combos instead of the 3A. But IF she ends up getting a 3A, i'll be incredibly happy. I was pretty bitter about her not going to the olympics and i really want to see her shine this season; team Japan in general, i want to see all these girls come and kick us all in the face and i hope those dumb judges will finally stop robbing them of their PCS points :bang:.

Oh, why don’t you like Duhamel? I like her commentary in TSL, it’s as knowledgeable as it gets. I find her very honest and direct. I also love her strong personality.
Anyway, nervermind Duhamel!

I too hope judges can be a bit more generous with the Japanese ladies this season. Wakaba should get some reputation points now, right? If that’s how this works for others.

I’m worried about Rika though. Even if she lands the jumps, if she doesn’t get a PCS boost it will be tough for her. I think her GOEs won’t be high at the jumps. I saw some improvement in her spins in the summer shows. I think they worked on that. So she should get good GOE on spins and stepsq and that choreo sq in the FS is perfect!! The only problem will be the jumps.
She’ll need good PCS to be really competitive.

I’m still upset about her SP. Why didn’t she keep Dickson??? At this point I’m thinking she should recycle her Kung Fu short. I didn’t see any growth from that SP to Wilson’s SP. It’s too comfy comfy! From La Strada to Beautiful Storm I’m seeing real growth, trying something new, evolving artistically. The SP is kind of a let down for me. It looks juniorish. She could’ve skated that program in her first junior season, that would’ve been nice. But for her Senior debut???? Don’t think so!
I hope the judges won’t agree with me though.

I think Wakaba would benefit from having a 3A, I hope she can pull it off if not this season then the next.
It is said Sakamoto is also working on it or want to. She’s another one I think could totally land a 3A! Her double is so good!!!
I’m already imagining Japan Nationals filled with 3A attempts, more than any other Nationals. [emoji23]

PS.: sorry for the mild rant. [emoji23]

That only works for chosen ones. And Wakaba is far from to be a chosen one. Not by her fed nor international judges.

Sakamoto isn't working on the 3A anymore, she thinks it's more important to become consistent with the rest of her jumps under the new system.

I'm looking forward to see Wakaba and Yura's programs at autumn classic. They are the only ones that we didn't see yet.

Right!
Wakaba’s short seemed very interesting, although I didn’t like the cut at the ending. But I applaud her choice of music, very different, it will definitely stand out. And her dress was beautiful! Although maybe she will change it? Anyway! I love a good white dress.

Hah, this doesn't surprise me! If there were ever a Japanese version of Meagan it would be Wakaba. Tough, fierce, athletic, and ready to take names and set the ice on fire.

Which Japanese ladies are competing on the jgp next week? Could they be medal threats?

Oh, and I really love yuhana Yokoi. I’d give her another chance.

Nana Araki and Moa Iwano will be competing next week.
If they can hold their nerves (and Moa can fix her jump underrotation issue), both of them can be medal threats.

My favorite japanese junior girls with Tomoe! i am so excited for next week's JGP

URs are really hard to fix. But Araki looks to be a solid medal contender for Lithuania (probably bronze if all are clean since Sinitsyna has a 3Lz-3Lo combo that she doesn't)

Btw Shiika Yoshioka won the first medal in JGP for Japanese ladies this season.

When was the last time we saw Moa skating? Like a year ago, we don't know how her skating has improved (or regressed) so let's wait and see
