Evgenia Medvedeva

So we don't yet have 100% validation that she is going to ACI right? But seeing Orser is taking Hanyu there, Orser might as well take Zhenya too to save time to go other challenger.

Skate Canada is the GP event, they don't show the Autumn Classic.

ETA: looking back at last year's thread, in 2017 the Autumn Classic was live streamed free world wide on Skate Canada's Daily Motion channel. I'd guess that it will be the same this year.
Yes, Skate Canada's website can be a bit of a challenge. But it is free and has live scoring.

Not sure about this year, but it may be that Ted Barton may join with Debbi Wilkes (a former pairs skater) in providing commentary.

The one drawback is that all the different pages (start orders / results, live scoring, livestream) are all on the same event page with different tabs.

To avoid losing the stream and having to go through the DailyMotion ad stream when you check the live scores, open up multiple tabs in your browser rather than switching tabs on Skate Canada's ACI Event page.

The only 100% will be for ACI or RusFed to release the lists.

Jason and Zhenya said in Zhenya’s IG Live that they were attending the same senior B. Jason is assigned to ACI. So it appears likely.

Brian will be there with half of TCC, it seems, not just Yuzu;)

Well, with Skate Canada taking on a JGP, there won't be any junior events at ACI this year.

So at least they can focus on coverage for the seniors.

Wow so we will see 3 Orser students there! Too bad the tickets are all sold out. Most likely HD cameras from Japan and Russia will film the events separately too!

F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! I can't wait to see not only her programs, but also her costumes ( especially the jazz one). And of course, I'm curious how the music cuts in her FP will sound like. (I think that combination of Mamuki and Libertango is very interesting.)

A bit off topic, but I hope Gabby has a good season. You can see how mentally draining her less than optimal experience at the Olympics was. Really wish her to get her nerves under control. I love the energy she has on the ice and want to see her perform well!

It's lovely the way she talks about Evgenia, too. Oh, what I'd do to be a fly on the wall for their training sessions... that line up is to die for.

For sure they had a close relationship but Zhenya never said (as far as i know) that Eteri is her "second mom". Only after the Olympics, Eteri started this mom-daughter talk. I wonder why...

Usually, people don't speak so high-flown way (and when Eteri said that, she responded to the question already formed in this way "Of course, she is like a daughter to me").

But when someone told words like this:
"We are family"
or
"In fact, she raised me on a ice rink. She always taught me something new. I even have character traits that my parents do not have, but my coach has them"
- then any reasonable person is clear what is about.

As far as i remember, Eteri said it also on a pressconference (without a direct question).

Ok, these quotes are new for me but old. Likely they had a mom-daughter relationship at that time(season 2016/2017).

Evgenia trained in her old group from a young age and has said a few times in the past that her coach "basically raised her", so there's little reason to believe that she was lying or anything of that nature. Honestly, what's done is done and it's best imo to just let it all go. None of this should've ever been as dramatized and plastered all over the media like it was. The arrangement of Evgenia's upbringing is ultimately a private matter that really doesn't concern people on the outside, who are merely looking in.

"I want to wish the further development and prosperity to Eteri Georgievna’s group and once again say thank you for such a valuable 11 years of my life. I remember how I came in just a little. Yes, it was sometimes hard, but I was trained, educated, supported, when necessary - driven. I grew up in front of Eteri Georgievna. She made an invaluable contribution to the development of me not only as an athlete, but also as a person. From her I got many life lessons. I will remember them all my life. On the rink “Crystal” my childhood passed, I will remember with gratitude the time of hard but fruitful work." -- Her official statement, which is enough for the public.
