Wow how do you guys keep track of such moments. Can't believe the eagle eyes in this thread [emoji23]As if off-season wasn't making people desperate enough, here's blurry Evgenia with blurry Brian!

Are those her rosegold blades or I am dreaming?

Like dogs at the dinner table, staring at the food and pouncing on any fallen crumbs. You guys are all too funny. Posting tons of photos and vids going "Zhenya is in the background!" like she is photo-bombing Yuzu and the others or something.![]()

Google translate isn’t great here but it’s all praise for Zhenya and her unique coaching situation from someone called Trankov?
- From her I'm waiting for something new in connection with leaving for Brian Orser. Everyone is waiting and thinking: "What will she show?" I really want her to ride like a Canadian figure skater. First of all in skating. If Zhenya adds and begins to jump like Medvedev, and ride like a Canadian school teaches, it will be a bomb. And I really want Zhenya to reach a new level. In general, this is a unique case where the two best coaches of solo skating today - Tutberidze and Orser - have trained or trained the same athlete. For Zhenya, I think this is a lucky ticket. And, working next to Auxerre, she may become an incredible specialist in the future

Called skills in Canada...but yes many of the old compulsory figures are part of the set, as well as spirals, stroking and skating skills.
Tracy would be Zhenya's lead coach for these. Going back to Toller Cranston, the TCC philosophy is that Skills are fundamental for all technical excellence in freeskate.
Skills is one of the three categories that skaters in Canada have to pass tests in to progress and be able to compete. Dance and Freeskate are the other two.
But perfecting skills is an ongoing effort at even the highest level.
But some Eteri girls like Alena Kostornaia already have amazing skills. I see alot of Russian Jr girls who have great skating skills nowadays.Called skills in Canada...but yes many of the old compulsory figures are part of the set, as well as spirals, stroking and skating skills.
