Thanks for sharing! I am surprised to see that his favorite 4T success rate is so low, lower than his nemesis 3A :shocked:Or should I rephrase it that his 3A is not really that bad, it actually has higher success rate than his favorite 4T.

That was because if a jump went art, he would toss in a 4T, often botching it.

I also think his 3A is better than most people believe because he throws it in at the end of programs when he's tired, whereas most skaters would put their problem jumps towards to beginning.

I left out the 3F, 3S and several combos, which Nathan only attempted once or twice (success rates would be quite pointless and the table too huge... )
He has done so many different variations of 3-jump-combos with 2T and 2Lo that I put some of them together. The BV is only calculated for the first two jumps.

It's very interesting to see the direct comparison with Yuzu's stats (you can find them under the link above as well). Nathan doesn't have to hide at all His table is quite impressive.

I agreeed with everyone else that Nathan’s 3A is improving. At least it seemed that he did pretty well in the 3A relay with Shoma and Boyang, both of them have really good 3A. Our boy still needs lots of work in terms improving his GOE.

Yuzu's GOE and success rate on the solo 4S made my jaw drop. I remember how much he struggled with that jump before the 15/16 season. For years... It's incredible.

Back to Nathan: when I collected his stats, I realized that he changed his layout very often, especially his combos...
It's his decision of course, but I think that he could perform better, if he had one stable layout during the season and focus on those 7-8 jumping passes plus back-up in practice. That could be a key to better GOE. What do you think?

It's possible that could help but there have also been a number of other factors to consider. Remember that Nathan only made his senior debut two seasons ago and introduced both 4Lz and 4F while coming back from surgery. At the time that was considered reckless insanity, so some inconsistency was expected. And of course last season there was also the big Olympic hype and pressure, not to mention the early addition of the 4Lo.

With two seasons under his belt and no new quads planned there is a greater sense of stability with Nathan's training this year despite his move to Yale. Hopefully that stability will make itself evident in his skating.

It will be interesting to see his new FS layout. If he wants to keep his 6 quads, he has to add the 4Lo because of the new repetition rule.

On the other hand... taking his OWG/WC layout and dropping one quad... that could help him a lot to improve his consistency and focus on the quality of his elements and overall skating. Whatever he does, I'm looking forward to it :hap85:

In one photo Stephane is wearing a jacket that costs 990,000 yen! Even the t-shirt is 50,000 yen! That t-shirt alone probably costs about as much as Nathan has spent on his entire wardrobe.
