Evgenia Medvedeva

Oh cool! Did they say it was okay to send stuff?

Someone else posted that Conrad Orzell said they could get gifts sent to them there. So I just decided to send the card via UPS as TGee stated that was the best method. I put it attn Brian Orser/ Evgenia Medvedeva, because he has an office so I figured the package would be put on his desk. So I'm hopeful she gets it.

Glad to hear it worked out!

How beautiful and youthful, Sailor Moon was my favorite caricature when I was a child (I would like to see Zhenya with more casual clothes, I always see her in sportswear).

--------
So far Zhenya has had no problems in updating her content, in a few months she showed us 2 combos of great BV that will surely add to the layout throughout the season, this gives her a great advantage when distributing the jumps. Who knows if she has already practiced some new ones, next year (or sooner) maybe she will show us a 3F-3Lo (which has a Bv higher than a 3lz-3t, and in the second half it is worth more than a 3lz-3lo in first half ). I think she has no problems to put together new combinations. She also receiving a lot of attention and care in all aspects of her skating, and she will continue receiving it for the next 4 years , none of her russianmates have this luck. So I can only expect good things for the future, everything else depends on her consistency and how hard she works to meet these goals.

(Do not forget that Zhenya also has the ambitious goal of achieving a 4S, she is lucky to be born with narrow hips that give her an advantage in this, and now she is also lucky to have a physical trainer who has helped her take care of her muscles, so everything is pointing little by little to the right direction)

things that Zhenya has in her favor:
*She passed her puberty successfully.
*Good genetic
*A vast experience in competitions.
*Great mental strength and capacity for self-determination.
*Attention and care insured for the next 4 years.
*New 3Lo combos
* Visible advance in SS and basic technique (takeoff, edges).

*The support of her loyal fans :hap10:

It is almost shocking to me that IdF is next week already :eeking:. I am eager to watch Evgenia skate again, yet I want her to have the time she needs to practice. Particularly because she does not have a lot of time between IdF, GPF and Russian Nationals. If they were going to tinker with her programs, this is it, it seems like.

I am happy IdF is right after US Thanksgiving and Russian Nationals before Christmas. Gives me something else to focus on! I wonder when she will fly to Russia? The event starts Dec 19.

Honestly guys, costume is secondary to me. I just want her to do programs she can be happy and proud of and let loose a little while attacking those jumps and choreo. I know all of you agree too..

Luckily for me this week has gone fast because Monday was a holiday here. So I have Rostelecom to distract me this weekend and next week is a weird week because it is Thanksgiving so hopefully that will go fast...and then finally Evgenia competes.

Would the result of Rostelecom have any impact on Evgenia's GPF chances?

Someone mentioned on another thread that if Sofia beat Alina it could, assuming Evgenia came second at IdF. The chances of that happening are very low (Sofia/Alina). I don't know what other results could cause that.

Oh sorry, I didn‘t see that. I just found the post on instagram and decided to post it here. :)

Costumes aren‘t too much on my mind either, though. I‘d rather have her skate in training clothes and have two absolutely clean performances than her having absolutely gorgeous costumes but bombing terribly.

Would the result of Rostelecom have any impact on Evgenia's GPF chances?

Yeah, I guess so... like some people in the competition threads are already wishing for ( :palmf: ) if Sofia Samodurova wins and Alina only gets second Zhenya is probably out of GPF. They want to see ”TAT explode“ because they suspect she will if Zhenya doesn’t make the final, or at least that‘s what they said. I can only be: :rolleye: at that but oh well, what to say.

I know that I will do it for the whole competition like I did at SCI FS. I‘ll be away from the skating part of the internet. I‘ll wish her good luck one day before the SP starts and then leave and only send her positive vibes. It worked for the FS and it worked for me, too. I‘m way too attached to Zhenya and I don‘t want myself to get overtly crazy.

If Sofia beats Mako it's helpful for Evgenia (in terms of her ability to get in with 2nd in France - 1st will do it basically regardless).

Basically, if we assume Alina wins and that Rika Kihira will be 4th or higher in France, we have 4 spots taken: Alina, Rika, Satoko and Elizaveta. So there are 2 spots left. If Mako gets silver, then she'll have 2nd/2nd and will be in, leaving one spot. So if Zhenya gets 2nd in France, she'd need to beat Kaori and Stasya (if she came 3rd) in the score tiebreak, (which is doable).

But if Sofia gets silver and Mako gets bronze, then Zhenya gets 2nd in France with Stasya 3rd (and she could be lower with the field, then she'd be out of the mix), there are 2 spots between five girls with 2nd/3rd: Kaori, Zhenya, Sofia, Mako, Stasya. That could be easier than the first scenario, just because the other girls all have lower first scores than Kaori, so it might be possible to get in even if she doesn't beat Kaori's score (depending on their 2nd scores at their events).

Now if someone other than Rika wins in France with Zhenya 2nd, it does get more complicated. A 1st/4th beats 2nd/3rd, so if Mako gets 2nd in Russia, one of Mai, Bradie or Stasya wins in France with Zhenya 2nd and Rika 3rd/4th, then she wouldn't make it. So it's best for Evgenia if Mako doesn't get 2nd next week just to prevent this scenario. If one of those 3 won in IdF but Mako had 3rd in Russia, then Evgenia would need to beat Kaori in a tiebreak probably.

Also if Zhenya doesn't win in France, it's best for it to be Rika. And I do think that one of them is likely to be the winner in France.

Now that NHK is over I bring you: WHAT DOES ZHENYA NEED TO MAKE THE FINAL?

Scenario 1: assuming that Alina will win Rostelecom, if Mako gets a silver there then Zhenya will need at least a silver at IDF with a score higher than Kaori's 213.90

Scenario 2: assuming that Alina will win Rostelecom, if Mako gets bronze or lower, Zhenya will need at least a silver at IDF with a score higher than the other skaters who got silver+bronze (potentially Mako, Sofia and Stanislava), but not necessarily higher than Kaori's 213.90, because both Kaori and Zhenya could qualify in this case, thanks to the lack of a skater with 2 silver medals.

We will know what she needs for sure after Rostelecom, as a lot depends on Mako's placement there.

Re - Zhenya's GPF qualification chances, I have a minor correction to myself to make: the score she needs at the moment is 213,42 because iirc what counts is the sum of the 2 events score. It's only 0.50 less than I had convinced myself she needed, but still 😂

[correct me if I'm wrong]

Yeah, it's the total between the two events that is the TB.
