Jason Brown

Thanks for the practice report. I expected it to be rough. If he posted his IG pic when his flight was leaving, the earliest he could have gotten into Grenoble was was around 8pm last evening. He had to be exhausted. Bradie and Nathan were posting pics from the ice in Grenoble before he even took off from Toronto, and Nathan had a rough practice as well.

Thanks for the reminder - jet lag is a bear, and I also forgot that getting to Grenoble isn’t as quick and easy as getting to Paris. I do think it’s funny that during the SP draw Jason ended up picking for Boyang (who wasn’t at practice), and that Boyang - not Jason - ended up skating last. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Um, I didn’t think it was that bad, I mean he wasn’t on all cylinders, but watching the 30 minute practice video he hit mostly everything. The 2S pop is still a thing though lol.

Glad to see the return of the Kerrigan spiral!

And also I notice he was doing a double bracket transition into some of his axel attempts. I hope we’ll see that ina program for a 3A someday.

That's very funny. :) Happy Turkey Day to the U.S. peeps!

Yeah- I wouldn't put too much stock into the first practice. He's got to be exhausted. I'm glad to see his 3A still looks good.

Jason transferring last to skate pick vibes to poor Boyang:laugh:

Happy Thanksgiving to all the US posters:hap85:

Yeah the 3A-3T looked really good. You'd think he always hit that jump combo lol.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Okay, mea culpa, I expect too much! :slink: But may I share with you all that my coach made fun of me for doing exactly the same thing during my own lesson on Tuesday. :drama:

I have to say I’m really thankful that so many people attending this GP are generously sharing their impressions and clips.

Looking forward to the SP tomorrow! :)

Haha, I feel you. I completely wiped out on an illusion spin in my program yesterday. I blame the fact it was 5:30 am... except I always skate at 5:30 am!

I am excited to see Jason compete again. His LP has really grown on me.

Yeah I can't use the it's really early excuse, though I still do. I run with a group of women twice a week at 5:15 a.m. and I'm usually half asleep for at least the first 3-4 miles (or a 5 mile run ).

I am excited to see Jason compete again! SCI feels like a long time ago. I low-key stan that FS. fight me, lol.

The fact that they’re adding more transitions suggests that overall he’s making progress with this jumps. And since they put it before the loop, he must be doing it consistently well. I actually really love the loop with the back spiral exit, so I hope they’ve kept it.

That exit is stunning.

Thanks to all on-site fans for the live reports and videos!

I love Jason's SP but haven't been sold on the FS. The practice video of the FS with the added spiral & split jump looks promising though and shows more of Jason's unique style than earlier versions.

Good luck Jason! :hap10:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. :ghug:

Whenever I'm tempted to panic about practices, I just remember that Max spent most of the first practice at SkAm 2015 on his butt. ;)

On the subject of his RMH visits, I just found out there is a RMH also in Grenoble. So we can be pretty sure he will visit there too. So anyone present at IdF, make sure to bring a stuffed toy!

Jason just tweeted that he will be visiting the RMH in Grenoble. :)

He also included the announcement in French. I think it's so great that he makes the extra effort to tweet in the language of the country. How many languages has he tweeted in now?

 for a skate that Jason will and enjoy and reward of the feeling that he is training well.
I like it that he has a long term goal and is very optimistic.
