Jason Brown

MGstyle - thank you soo soo much for your post and sharing your experience with Jason. He pretty much confirmed what most of have been hoping for that this transition is still evolving and he's all for it. It was also nice to hear that he and Kori are still special to each other - they have a lot of years of togetherness.

First post I read this morning and the day is starting off with a big smile! :agree:

MGstyle, thanks for taking the time to write this wonderful recap. So glad it worked out for you! I'm curious about the "totally new look" for the long program. hmmm.... Is there enough time for that? Maybe he means new costume.

Thanks MGStyle, so glad to hear all the details and see those lovely photos again. Forza Jason!:)

(And in case anyone doesn’t recognize the banner Jason is holding, the creator is the talented Japanese illustrator Ms. Yoonk, who does those wonderful cartoons. Hope I am not disclosing secrets by saying that;) )

I know that el henry has already informed you all of my CBC IdF video in the competition thread, but since not everyone has access to that part of the forum, I still wanted to make my own post about it.

Jason's LP is at 7:48, plus there's a "Coming Up" fluff at 6:38 (the password is men): https://vimeo.com/296228927

There's also a brief summary of his SP at 0:55 and a warm-up clip at 2:20 (the password is men): https://vimeo.com/296228905

You guys are very lucky that I was able to edit and upload these vids; if you haven't already heard about my life-threatening incident, you can read about it here: https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?72200-2018-19-Canadian-figure-skating&p=2266347&viewfull=1#post2266347

Thank you again, Siberia82! I was so sorry to hear about what happened to you, and hope you are feeling better now. I can’t imagine how scary that was.

It’s really sweet of you to post the CBC clips here. The Canadian commentators are always really good and very fair, so I always enjoy seeing competitions through their eyes/ears. Since they’re usually geoblocked, it’s great to have access to them. Thanks again, and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!

I hope I didn't jump the gun, Siberia82, we always appreciate so much when you come to post here.

And hoping that you are on the mend and feeling better!:)

Thanks for the videos all season siberia82! And here’s to continued good health. I’m glad you’re OK — your life is far far more important than any video you post here! That said, I love the photo montage for Jason (And just that CBC video montage concept in general.) We’ve seen the photos before but it’s all arty in black and white. Our black heart lover would approve. ;)

@NoNameFace Thanks so much for your posts about IdF. I've greatly enjoyed reading about your adventure in both the Jason thread and the Thoughts, Analysis & Review thread.

@MGstyle Thanks so much for your post about the fan meeting with Jason. You made the experience come to life and, even second hand, I felt the warmth of Sunny Man Jason.

@Siberia82 Most importantly, I am glad you are feeling better. Secondly, Thank you for the videos!

For the cat fans, I've got a new fur kid. She's my new avatar. She looks like (and has the personality of) a Russian blue so I've named her Sasha. She's in kitty bliss in the photo after having her belly rubbed.

Siberia82, That was a very scary experience. Happy that you made it through. Focus on your health and recover this weekend watching Figure Skating. Get well and be well.

I think it's the cosmopolitan influence of living in Toronto, and his own desire to look more polished and adult. The hair was the first step. He may indeed have taken a stylist's advice. He still wears the Tshirts for practice, but off ice, he dresses much better than he did in Colorado Springs. Hoping that the competition will be streamed. I will be sad if it isn't.

Thanks to those of you who offered me well-wishes. :) I know so far I've only visited Jason's Fan Fest to post videos, but I just wanted to say that his fans are generally very nice, just like he is. (I recall Kurt once made a cute joke in his commentary that Jason was incredibly sweet, and he wondered, "Are we sure he's not Canadian?" Now that Jason is training in Toronto, I guess we can consider him an honorary Canadian. ;) )

While a lack of energy does get in the way sometimes, at least during the periods when I'm feeling better, I'm happy to share Canadian coverage of Jason's performances. I'm sure this isn't necessary since there's probably a ton of videos on YouTube of his excellent IdF SP, but I did upload a No Commentary 720p version of this performance here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6yauzf

I've grown to like Jason's skating a lot more after I've had the chance watch him compete in person at SCI; a 2-dimensional screen doesn't do him justice. Despite the mistakes at that event, I thought he was magnificent. :luv17:

Stunning photo. Anyone think he may have got a stylist's advice recently? Not that he was ever shabby, but he seems to be dressing a lot more fashionably.

Hmm, maybe! Or maybe he is just picking up style as he explores the city. Or he has a friend with a good eye. :)

A big difference is that he’s now in a cosmopolitan, multicultural city as opposed to Monument, which is tiny and in the middle of nowhere. Colorado in general is super casual, so his (very nice) athletic clothes fit right in there.

ETA I see Bookseller and I have similar thoughts!

When I came back from a month in S. Korea, I was dressing up everyday cause of the super well-dressed Korean ladies I met. (And I got a bunch of new clothes!) My co-workers even noticed. But after a few months I was pretty much back to my Pacific Northwest Patagonia produce placement uniform. (Okay I actually dress nicer than that; but the high matainance Seoul outfits were definitely not sustainable.)

Whatever the reason, I am so here for stylish Jason!

I can't link right now, but the remaining Japanese Fan Club has a video of a four minute interview with Jason after SCI, and they asked him about his clothing style choices:laugh:

He didn't seem to say anything different than what he's said over the past four years: fits well, comfy, but he knew who made his jacket, pants and shoes;)

I am also here for the JustB Salon, Toronto, and I loved the pony and never thought I'd say that.:)

Jason Brown Interview at Skate Canada 2018

His FS costume was designed by "a guy named Dennis" who works closely with Brian and designed many of Javier's costumes.

Why does Jason not remember anyone’s last name?’ lol.

Also I loooovveee Uniqlo and I'm a Brooks running shoes gal.

I was so confused cause I'm like, why did the JPN fan club decided to release a second SCI interview video -- when I realize there was no first SCI interview -- i had mixed up the ACI and SCI videos as being both SCI videos. Go figure.

Thanks for that link to the SCI interview. I had not seen that. Love that his costume was made by a guy named Dennis. I love Uniqlo also. Their hoodies are great and their gloves and those magical Heattech shirts!
