Jason Brown

No time to enjoy my favorite thread today. I just came here to scribble down as many videos as possible, in hopes that my Video Expert will get them for me to watch. Video Expert will NOT understand why I want 20++ videos of the exact same thing! Plus practices. Plus medal ceremony. I will use up my season's quota!

Anyway, thank you so much to everyone for providing the links!!!! What a holiday surprise!

Oh, no fair! There is an EXTENDED version of SP PbP by karne y details by NNF on Jason! Must remember to read them later!!

I think I wrote down 15 videos! Just on Jason, just on you-tube, with the addition of a tearful Brian Joubert Tribute to Denis Ten I found on the no commentary uni videos link. And then there are still the entire Men's SP y FS list, and of course Evgenia, and Hawayek / Baker.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but I watched the presser for the men after the LP (available on the FFSG Facebook site).
ETA: I see @Rosa74 did mention it:agree: but not the specific quotes that struck me.

Best quote for me: the short program plays to my strengths and the long program tests them.

He knows exactly what he’s doing. And yes, the quad was taken out by Brian and Tracy at IdF because of his struggles.

Half the questions were to Jason, I found it interesting to watch him actually say all the points we’ve been reading all along. :)

Nice, karne!

I applaud you for watching in real time, cause half the time I was not looking cause I was so nervous LOL.

I can't not watch real-time. I have to know.

(I will literally wake up in a panic in the middle of the night if I've thought I've missed Jason skate. Done it more than once the night before a comp. I've also panic-woken before Max and Josh, most memorably during CoC last season where I was dreaming I was scrabbling for the SP results, woke in a flailing panic that I'd missed Max, and promptly fell out of bed into the wall).

So I hope Jason’s London jaunt serves him well before Golden Spin. I just checked the entries, and in addition to Deniss, Daniel Grassl, Samarin, & Kovtun, now Kolyada will be there too! Almost like another GP!

Seriously, it will be interesting to see how well he can do so soon, particularly after he gave that peak SP performance.

It's turning into a very interesting competition. I wonder who else will be entered at the last? Quite a few US skaters! It may turn out to be very competitive! And I am waiting to see which coach goes with Jason. Brian will be with Cha even if Yuzu is still injured. It's going to be another very exciting skating period! This is really an amazing season for the first season in the Olympic quadrant!

It won’t be Lee bc he will be with Stephen at JGP final. So either Tracy or Karen.

Javier Raya is also competing. Who works with him?

I think he works mostly with Joey Russell who is mostly a choreographer. I am actually surprised he’s still competing but maybe with Javi all but retired he sees an opportunity.

Jason being in London for the day is like, the closest I've ever been to one of my fave skaters

Actually on that note, GPF is in Strasbourg next year isn't it? Maybe if I start saving now...

Then we have similar thoughts:) :) :). I read somewhere in Edge thread that the venue is very small so the race after tickets could be tight...

I´m popping by in this tread to tell that I really enjoyed Jason Browns i GP las weekend and I think he might be one of my new favorite skater. I will watch the videos over and over, because it was such a great performance. And it really makes me happy that you could score like that without quads. That makes me believe that other skaters who have the same artistic potensial could do great things without quads.

I didn´t really recognize Jason at first. I didn´t really fancy him last season with his hair and that "pirate" costume. This is much better.

norwegian, welcome to the thread. Loved reading your post. As someone who has been a Jason fan for about 8 years now it's always nice to see a new enthusiastic devotee.....

I’m at my iPad and can’t link, but has anyone watched the CBC coverage of Jason’s LP? Siberia82 kindly posted the whole men’s LP in the “IdF no videos thread” in the comp forum. Jason starts at 7:46 in Part 2.

Is the male commentator Kurt Browning? He looooves:love: Jason. And Carol Lane? She  Jason too. It’s what I thought I would hear from B ESP, but did not.

You can hear Kurt audibly gasp at the split, and Carol says if Jason doesn’t do a split there are riots. Kurt says he wants to see the slow mo on the boffed combo because “even Jason’s mistakes are artistic”. Many other words of praise. They don’t even mention the Q word until the last few seconds.

It gives me the warm fuzzies

Thanks for the info! I'll get on that as soon as my Hallmark movie is over. :agree:

Has anyone listened to this week's IceTalk with Ashley Wagner? They supposedly talk about IFP.

Yes. She's quite entertaining and they do talk about IdF and how great Jason's short program was and how he was rewarded for quality. It's a fun podcast, so take the time to listen. Ashley is also starting her own podcast in January and it will be all about skating. She's articulate and opinionated, but she labels her opinions as just that. She was, perhaps, a little bit too chatty on this particular episode, but it bodes well for her podcast. I plan to listen again, as I was busy doing things while listening and feel like a missed a few things. But well worth the listen. It's about 45 minutes long.
