Jason Brown

Oh Jason, some guy named Denis? :laugh2: Hopefully he tailors the costume more to your lines in comps to come.....

And has everyone seen these absolutely adorable photos of Jason and Zhenya after or at the IdF gala. Not sure who the other skater is coming for a famous Jason hug, a Russian pairs lady maybe?

The Absolute Skating site that these came from has some beautiful shots. One thing I noticed is that everyone seemed to be FREEZING at the gala rehearsal. Hugs may have been warming.

It's Aleksandra Boikova, who is indeed a Russian pairs skater. I clicked on her and it took me to her instagram page.

If you click on a spot in the background of the picture, the tags appear for all the "tagged" people.

Thank you so much @el henry for that absolutely adorbs photo :luv17: My immediate impression about the other girl was Masha Sotskova, but the second shot clearly shows it's Boikova. I just can imagine Jason played a big part in cheering up Zhenya, who must have been distraught and furious. If there was anyone in this world who could put a smile on her face, it could have only been Jason! :luv17:

So glad that everyone enjoyed my report of the M&G :agree: It was indeed a magical, special half an hour, which we all wanted to last forever! I will carry the memory fondly in my heart to the end of time and beyond :luv17:

Well the next competition is rolling in already, ATTN: the SP will be held tomorrow (Thursday), NOT on Friday. at 5pm local/CET, Moscow-SPb 7pm, EST 11am, JST 1am, the starting order should be announced in a matter of some hours.

My fervent prayer for an appearance of a livestream link, and of course for Jason's yet more improved, polished performance!!!!!

Has anybody found a link with practice reports from GS? I keep searching on Twitter but no luck so far...

Loved the interview and the insight into Jason's life off the ice. I was also pleased to hear Brian, et.al, are working on ALL Jason's jumps. I've said for some time now that Jason has the talent and athletic ability to do any jump but needed better or different technique. I think his last competition and his consistency shows that the re-work is having success.

You can try following @skatecroatia on Twitter and also check FSU under Challenger Series for updates by @kosjenka (she’s the one doing the Twitter updates too) if you have access to the Kiss and Cry section there. So far she hasn’t posted any practice reports but she said she would and would also check into the livestream status for us. I also wrote to Skate Croatia again to ask about the livestream bc they told me a few weeks ago there would be one. I’ll post if/when they respond.

ETA so Skate Croatia sent me this link to Daily Motion. It doesn’t seem to be live yet.

Thank you!!!

Thanks for the info! Depending on the time, I might be watching at the gpf rink!

So Jason skates 6th out of 26 tomorrow in the short. Will his scores be lower if he's that early?

GPF, GPF, GPF :yawn::biggrin:

Where’s our Golden Spin news? :)

Those SP orders are wacky

So random though... does anyone know off hand the last time Jason's TES was higher than his PCS? It was at France as it had to be... but when was the last time?

Here's another Jason/Zhenya moment from the gala. Since her performance was rescheduled to be just before his, they were able to exchange a few words (and skate guards) in between:

Not that I keep track or anything ... (Okay, I do have some data on a spreadsheet) ...

For the last two years (provided he didn't make a major mistake) Jason's short program TES/PCS marks have been almost equal.

Sometimes the TES is slightly higher:
ACI 2018 TES 44.80/PCS 44.10
SC 2017 TES 45.64/PCS 45.07

Sometimes the PCS is slightly higher:
4CC 2018 TES 44.81/PCS 44.97
GPF 2017 TES 44.30/PCS 44.72

The last two times the SP TES was more than a point higher than the PCS:
WTT 2017 TES 48.43/PCS 45.89
Worlds 2017 TES 48.00/PCS 45.10

The long program is a completely different story. The last time he had higher TES than PCS was:
Skate America 2016 TES 92.61/PCS 90.02

So it seems the coaching change for Jason has helped him? He is doing much better this season. I haven't followed his seasons that closely but he is one of my favs.
