Belbin-Agosto: A New Free Dance

Ooooo. Can I see Caron and Jost on youtube?

I'm searching for you now Joe, if it's there, will add the link.

YAY!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KyjvnJH_sA

Pity it's not the Brit Eurosport comms though, generally they don't talk over the music....there are alot of their vids posted on youtube, might be a better quality version from another comp this season, but this gives you an idea of how happy and joyous it was! :)

ETA: Love Love Love it!!! :) My Fave FD of the season! An added bonus is you get an interview with the Kerr's talking to Gwendal, who skated right before them in the penultimate group. Plus a chance to swoon over coach Romain Hagenauer in the K&C. ;) I always like to pretend he's blowing a kiss to me!

Unfortunately I couldn't find a full version of the other debutants I loved, Anna Cappellini / Luca Lanotte's FD, but here's the opening minute and a half to give you an idea of their style, from the Torino Winter Universiade, where they won the Gold Medal a few days before Euros. A home video. :)

Thanks La Rhumba. I loved it. Excellent happy dancing. What a concept! Is there any way they can get to Worlds.?

I also enjoyed Piaf's singing which I hadn't heard in some time. I wonder if the American's can do a cut of Garland's tunes?

So pleased you enjoyed it Joe!

I guess they'll be the No.1 standbys incase Nathalie doesn't fully recover in time.

They'd be fools not to! You can't beat a great tune IMO!!

I did ask myself the question, am I loving this Freedance because of the Piaf songs which are amazing, and just touch the soul, and I think their costumes are cute? But the choreography and style of dancing really adds to the songs, and the interpretation is spot on, so it's the all-round package that is so enjoyable. It keeps your interest right the way through. :)

If you miss out on Carron & Jost this time though, you will get to see the Italians, Cappellini & Lanotte, with "I've Got Rhythm" at Worlds, so that'll be alot of fun too! :agree:

I will look forward to seeing Capolini and Lanotte. It's so good for me to get away from 4 minutes of heavy drama.

Joe, I took another look at a download of B&A's first FD this season, on debut from CoC, and from the presepctive of recently watching all the top Euros FDs, what struck me most was there was just not enough technical content in that Dance. Very few tricky steps, and quite bare in places. It wasn't the style or music necessarily [though that was a cheezy arrangement] just purely a lack of content, which if marked fairly would've barely merited a World Top 10 place, and certainly not podium IMO.

I really don't know about the Technical in Dance. Skating close, twizzles, shoot the ducks, crotch lifts is about all I know except for this passion thing.

From my perspective which is very limited in Dance, I liked the concept of B&As first program. She got the character of the program. He didn't. But it was a work in progress and I think he would have gotten it before long.

I completely agree. To me it seemed that they did not fight hard enough for the program. I remember from a fluff piece at Nationals, that they said that they wanted to keep reusing lifts and choreography. Well, I think that is the reason no one really warmed up to this program. It looked like what they had done before just set to new music. I would have loved it if they had just rechoregraphed it instead of throwing it away.
