Evgenia Medvedeva

Nope, no translation error. That's really what it says

But to be fair, it's not the most trustworthy source, so I wouldn't bank on it for now. I mean, since when is that even a thing to take the alternate to the competition just in case without someone WDing first?

Well mabye if one of the other 3 gets an injury or suddenly falls ill. I mean at least one substitute should be already there , and mabye Liza won't be fit enough to substitute?

Is that really a common practice for Euros? I've only heard of it for Olympics, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this topic.

Maybe she‘s there for the gala. That‘s the most reasonable explanation. I doubt one of the girls suddenly is ill or injured. Many people bought tickets to see her, she‘s incredibly popular. I don‘t know if it makes sense to stay in Russia just for a gala but it would make more sense than her competing. I doubt that will happen and it makes no sense. Rusfed would have had to announce it already.

Do you think this is connected to why she's still in Russia at this point?

I hope nobody gets wind of this in the Russian Ladies Thread :slink: The RusFed will get an earful from someone there

But what happens if for example one of the girls falls like alina did at gpf and can't compete would then one of the substitutes compete? For something so unpredictable since yes at any time something can happen wouldn't it be better to have someone already there?

From a lot of people. I heard some want to scream profanities at TAT, Zhenya and RusFed. They must be scared already. ;)

Nah, seriously, I hope nobody gets to hear this in the Edge. They‘re already acting like crazy there, suggesting things that make me go: :palmf: It would be even worse.

Just looking at the Instagram stories she posted. Is Zhenya using some sort of filter because I never noticed that she has a flawless complexion? Also those big brown eyes are stunning.

Another proof of Lord Northcliffe's quote:

"Journalism: A profession whose business is to explain to others what it personally does not understand."

This being said, now here's my 2 cents on this situation:

There's a whole bunch of Nationals going on this month: Canadian, American, Korean, among others. So what's the point, now, to fly across half the planet to find out that her training HQs are crowded for that reason?

Also, if there is a 180° changeover and Zhenya has to go either in Minsk (Euros) or Krasnoyarsk (Universiade)? Better be near than far, since the mystery about the lineups is still thick as the fog, as of today...

Maybe Alina’s injury is more severe then what has been shown and they want back up just in case??

I doubt it. We‘d have heard about that already if it was the case. Euros is in 10 days or so. RusFed would have needed to make an announcement already if there was a replacement. I still think it‘s for the gala.

Maybe Rusfed has reason to announce it later...I think gala is unlikely, she will not stay in Russia just for a gala.

Unless she was going to do her short program for the gala as practice? Since she is not a competitor, she would be allowed to I think. Still strange though.
