Evgenia Medvedeva

^ that thread is really hostile.
Well I did say my worry about a certain person aloud and well it is against the rules of golden skate to even voice it. If you are in the tread you can see what I wrote. Bodyshaming is on thing that i agree should be regulated but saying that I worry about her because of what I have seen of her at euros? And that the saying that puberty is a myth and doesnt exist and you just ignore your bodys voice isnt really working for said person . And saying that I hope she won't go Yulia, Gracie or gabby way. Nope its totally wrong of me . And that it worries me. But ok fullstop on this here, sorry but I had to rant. I am really exited to see zhenya next month's, can't wait for it actually [emoji8][emoji8][emoji8]

Anyone k ow when we will know who else will compete at the cup of Russia?

Presumably the others in question of getting a Worlds spot. Sofia‘s should be set, as Euros Champ. It will be the question whether Alina has to participate or not (it would be fair at least, even though I‘m not sure whether it would do her any good). Liza and Zhenya and maybe Stanislava?

The thing is, that the Russian Cup final is actually an event for which you qualify with first rounds of skates during the season. I don‘t think anyone of the skaters above has taken part in these competitions so they‘d all be needed to be included despite of this. So there’d suddenly be a lot more competitors. Maybe there will be a separate event and not the Russian Cup Final? It would certainly make sense. I think we should find out in a few days.

About your post above: Careful. I know you didn‘t mention her name but still... talking about another skater in here... It‘s against the rules. Believe me, I have worries that are actually not that different from yours but I make sure not to voice them and if I do, very carefully. And especially not in here. I know sometimes we just rant and can’t help it and I understand it (the Russian ladies thread is awful) but still...

I will not voice my worries and opinion on said person anymore or st leasti try ot to openly in any forum at golden skate . The fun thing is ranting about how one skater is done and also ranting at us for being her fans is allowed and not regulated but worrying about a skaters state is not. I don't want to be to forward but mabye some rules need to be looked at again.

Maybe, just maybe, people who insist that Evgenia return to Eteri will now be quiet? :eeking:
Maybe maybe not. Iteresting thought.

In my eyes Alina being up down this season has nothing to do with Zhenya and what she would have done with her old team. Zhenyas history was not up and down it was just up and stayed that way for years to her great credit. Seeing Zagitova struggle somewhat with the pressure of being the hunted makes me appreciate what Medvedeva did as the hunted for a few years. I think we all know in competitive sports there is less pressure and it's easier to be the hunter than the hunted. One of my favorite sports is tennis how many players say it's easier getting to the top then it is staying there in the pressure is very very different. Its true and Alina is going through that this season and she went through it last season at the world championships. it is so hard to be involved with these Sports and do as well as they do and trained as insanely hard as they do I tip my hat to them I admire them I readily admit I could never do that.

Let's hope that Zhenya can skate in one or two more events this season and show some great form. if Liza is healthy I would think the Russian World team would be set and we know who the three are and I would think and hope Zhenya would be the first alternate if Liza could not go because of her recent pneumonia illness.

In your defense, you were not being malicious, and the skater in question has, in fact (and contrary to the assertion on that thread), publicly discussed her diet (dealing with puberty = no eating, restricting fluids). But people in that thread will never admit that, alas, the Emperor truly does not have any clothes. In any event, you do not need to do them a favor by pointing it out.

Thats Why i Love this forum for zhenya here, here we can say what we are thinking without having to be scared to write something

And as I said in this thread I find this an important topic that is swept under the rug so to speak cause the rules forbid you to talk about it and the most of the users there would rather not hear or discuss it but this topic is in today's world very important cause it is so easily overlooked and it is a real danger in this type of sport

You know, I didn‘t want to restrict your speaking, only saying that if you raise your voice on certain topics a bit too loudly, those people will soon jump at you, pointing the rule book at you. And they aren‘t wrong of course per se, it is in the rules after all. That they totally forget what they‘ve been making for comments about other skaters and their teams before (and contrarily to you not with good intentions) is irrelevant, sadly. I actually have a bit of a similar opinion to yours and I know you are doing this with good intentions. I have been thinking on how/whether or not to speak up about this too but I fear that it will end in a bad way. Some people just don‘t want to listen. They‘ll witness the same things over and over again, being repeated over years and still they‘ll hold on to their opinion they‘ve crafted long ago and make arguments that ignore the original topic completely or dismiss it but ”prove their point“. We‘ve seen evidence, we‘ve seen lots of it in fact. Do we need to change ones mind when they only turn away and don‘t even listen? I, personally, don‘t think so. I will voice my opinion on this matter too but I don‘t expect to be met with reasonable arguments and logic. I think everyone who looks closely can see what‘s going on. But can we do something about it? We can speak up and voice our concerns, that‘s true. I just haven‘t found the right way yet because it is, indeed, a very sensitive topic.
