2019 Europeans Men's Free Skate

Alexei and I have never shared the same taste in music or style and the content today was rough. Yet I continue to be in awe of his work ethic and commitment to the sport

Harder than the Lutz?

It can be because most of the skaters jump 4Lz with a visible preparation of it/telegraphing which makes it easier to jump than 4Loop (who doesn't allowed that kind of a preparation/gaining speed before it, and for quads speed into the jump can be crucial).

Very rough for Bychenko. Unfortunately, he loses the most with this -5/+5 system. Nothing was really past a +2 here, all in the -2 to +1 range for all the elements mostly. I felt that the Dracula music overpowered him for the most part outside of the footwork sequence. I like his folk short program last year much, much better.

Really? I always thought the loop to be the easiest to recognise because of its telegraphing. Many skaters seem to do a series of circles, building momentum, before launching into it.

I know the loop can really eff up your hips though but we’re off topic now.

Again, it's time to mention that 3 skaters from Russia have a Carmen FS. And we have two of them here.

Dmitrov Jnr is practicing his 4A and throwing everything out of whack. That's my theory at least...

Also did Alexei have a nose bleed earlier? I don't think that stain is part of the costume.

His music is from Dracula. He’s a vampire, the blood was there last time I saw him.

I hope that Kovtun can come back from the short and that Kolyada can keep up the consistency. Javi just needs to focus and not get ahead of himself. And I just want Aymoz to deliver an experience like I know his program can.

If I were Silvia Fontana and John Zimmermann I would take some holidays after the Euros. They have students in three disciplines!
