Evgenia Medvedeva

This might sound a bit nonsensical but I'm going to try to explain it

Last year (and years prior) when I saw Zhenya skating, I would've assumed she was quite a small girl. In height and stature, but even last year she was quite tall compared to Alina and the Japanese ladies.

She's probably the same height this year and is still quite small but more fit, but now when I see her skating I DO feel like I'm looking at an adult skater that's on the taller side for a skater.

I know she's still quite small in general, and is only tall compared to a lot of the Russian & Japanese skaters, but she really stands out as someone who is taller and has longer limbs than a lot of her peers.

I'm guessing this is due to her having better extension and filling up the rink better this year compared to years prior. Regardless, I see it as a good thing. I don't know why I'm sharing this, but it was something I observed especially today. All of the small changes in her skating have made me see her in a completely different way compared to previous years.

Actually, thanks for sharing. I think and feel the same way. I am always shocked how “small” and young
she looks off the ice because on it, she seems so statuesque and mature (her FS dress accentuates this “illiusion”).

I actually think dairy, gluten and sugar are better things to eliminate than meat. I like what Tom Brady does - he goes 80% plant based and 20% protein from whey, salmon, chicken, bone broth. It's called a pegan diet - combining the best things from the paleo and vegan diet. Be a pegan Zhenya!

I think Tom Brady eats mostly vegan - and anti-inflammatory and alkaline foods. No nightshade vegetables and no fruits such as strawberries and tomatoes.

That angle is much better! Her competition 2As tend to be tighter than in practice but this was very similar.

Her stroking has improved so much. Her posture has improved due to better stroking too I bet. I also noticed really good speed coming out of her jumps, especially during her combo. These little details are adding up more and more and it makes me just as happy as her regaining consistency.

He has whey protein. Sells his own brand. I have his book and there are some meat recipes but for the most part plant based.

GUYS THE STEP SEQUENCE!!!! It's so much faster I can't even!!! Also, it's the same layout, solid jumps throughout. 3S-3Lo looked really nice.

Let’s hope that with this fs staying the same all season it comes just as naturally to her as it has been in recent competitions and that she can skate clean and have her first clean competition of the season. Practise looked really good. I believe in her!

I watched the practice stream and wow, Evgenia's jumps were flawless! She always has amazing practices though, so I'm not reading too much into it. Her 3S+3Lo was a thing a beauty. Has anyone ever done 3S+3Lo before?

All jumps were clean. No spins. As far as I can tell, she was using the same layout as RusNats. Her 2A+3T combo was great, but I'm scared of 2A combos for her in competition. Her only mistake at Nationals FP was that combo. And at IdF, she opened with 2A+3Lo and when she missed, her mental game was off for the rest of the program. I think when she gets nervous, her muscle memory is probably stuck between her old and new technique for 2A.

I really hope she can jump as well during competition! Her jumps are always better to me during practice tbh. During competition, they are not as easy as in official practice. I am rooting for a clean skate! She is my favorite.

I am loving all her practice outfits too. I think the crop top is actually a great look!
