You got me thinking, RD. I am not sure how one qualifies for the Olys, that is why I asked.Hmm, otherwise Kwan wouldn't have needed to petition, right? she was 3rd in 2002.
That is exactly my problem with threads like this, RD. Why is it so important to some posters to make the same criticisms of a skater (or anyone else) over and over and over. Sasha's lazy, and besides that she doesn't always train hard enough, and by the way did I mention she's lazy?hmm, I think we're just going to go round and round in circles. Some (inc. me) either think she didn't work hard enough or worked "in cycles", others are going to defend her and say she DID work hard *all the time* and the medals prove it. Really, what's new under the sun
You should listen to Math a little more!!! For instance, I know that Math adoresAs for the defenders, it really depends. I think it's more important HOW this "defense" is accomplished..
Michelle, yet, he is able to see Sasha for what she is..........a good artistic skater. I give him so much credit to be able to have an adult conversation or disagreement while knowing he adores another skater.I agree, it gets so annoying and boring!! By the way Math, did you forget ...........OVER AND OVER AND OVER.Mathman said:That is exactly my problem with threads like this, RD. That's not true for me!! When Johnny Weir made mistakes at the 06 Olympics, I was so angry with him and I like Johnny very, very much. He's my second favorite male skater. Anyhow, the difference between Johnny is that I thought he was not serious about the Olympics and I think other favorites were. It just wasn't their night. It's nothing simpler than: if you like a skater, you're going to say good things about her and probably defend her if she is being "criticized" by others, and if you don't like a skater, you'll do the opposite. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

I do see...............I do see...........I do believe......I do believe. One thing- I think certain people like to "take it out" on me (some posters might prefer to call it "teasing") partly because I don't have a favorite skater, therefore no one to "defend" or "stand up for"- or if it isn't I really don't give a hoot what the reason is. It's been happening practically as long as I've been a member here. It's also what this forum thrives on. Most posters do have a favorite indeed. But tell you what, If I really didn't like skating (to paraphrase some poster) I'd have left here a long time ago- especially with all the BS I've put up with over the years. end of rant.
Michelle Kwan
is the greatest of all time and that's all that really matters...
