For all Mao fans out there, you can post your best wishes and whatever news you found about Mao under this thread. I am almost 100% certain Mao Asada will claim the title in Tokyo.

For all Mao detractors, you don't need to read and/or respond to posts under this thread. I don't want to hear any whiners. This is going to be a Mao worship shrine.

Mao's technical ability is unmatchable, and her artistry is also unmatchable. I believe she should and will get 8s at worlds if she can hit 3A!

The following is some latest news regarding Mao Asada. The article is through multiple-layered translation, expect things getting lost in translation.

Mao Asada returned to Japan on March 10th, and she immediately called a news conference:

Mao expressed her strong desire to compete for the first time at world championships. She simply wanted to do what she could accomplish in practice, to hit 3A and break 200 points in order to claim the title.

For the past two months in U.S., Mao only took one full day break every week. She strengthened 3A jumps, and the footwork of her free program was also re-choreographed. Mao told the reporters that she would concentrate on doing her own stuff, and not to worry about her rivalries.

Go Mao!!!

Now you have one DEDICATED skater right there.  but I agree, threads like this could be the kiss of death for the skater.

that said, MAO WILL WIN :p

About the time such advance pronouncements are opined, rest assured the SkateGods will strike and strike hard!

Specifically the SkateGod called "Jinxed"

Goodness. Yu-Na is my personal favorite by far but it sounds like Mao really wants this.
As long as she hits everything, I'll be satisfied with her winning. The fact that she redid parts of her long is risky, but hopefully the program will fit her better.

Now that Sasha is not skating, I am dispensing my favors liberally. So go, beautiful little Mighty Mao! Do all you're capable of and you will fly to victory!

She's absolutely incredible, I especially like watching her performance at 2002 Japanese Nationals. 3+3+3! She's only 12! and full of joy.

I am very confident she will win this title. Usually I get a bit nervous for my favourite, but i don't feel nervous for Mao at all. Sorry folks, even skating Gods are not going to jinx her.

Didnt everyone say that Caroline Zhang was 100% going to win Nationals no matter what? Well look what happened there, she came in 2nd. Please try not to jinx her before worlds, I'm pretty sure that if she melts down in her FS she might not win (which shes done about twice this season).

I remember a certain Michael Weiss preparing for an elaborate victory celebration at Worlds 2003 in Washington DC.
