2019 World Championships Pairs Free Skate

Ok, now that that's over... my yearly petition for T/M to get brilliant programs and win gold next year. Please. Pretty please. I will be devastated if they never become World Champions.

Oh, I do. We better not see this kind of judging in the dance competition. Seriously—somebody explain to me how Zabiiako & Enbert came out ahead of Peng & Jin.

LOL. GOE in Dance this year has been SCANDALOUS. Thank God the tech panels have been a voice of reason in GOE Mania. And that's a sentence I never thought I'd type in my lifetime.

So happy, so, so happy. Maybe I do have literal tears in my eyes in the middle of work. And what about it!

:sad21: :yahoo::sad21:

I don't dislike Tarasova & Morozov. there is a lot to like. They are beautiful skaters with gorgeous elements. I just wish they could find their inner artists. Maybe they will take the path of TT/MM and will find it in the end.

They need to find some kind of passion. Obviously they have strong elements and are beautifully matched. But when I watch them I never feel anything from them. Classical is a better choice of music for them, with their lines etc., than the awful pop music they've had in the past, but neither genre seems to have really brought them out of their shell.

We are only 1 event down and that's already going to be my highlight of Worlds 2019, there was just magic in the air.

Because the best event, which is Pairs, is always the first one at Worlds! But I agree, this is going to be highlight, no matter what happens in the other disciplines. The whole group was great and the ending just incredible  I have no words, I mean, with all those injuries? They really are superheroes! There is not enough love emojis in the world to express how much I love them!

It really would be a shame if this is the last time we see this program on the international stage! I hope they keep it!

Unfortunately for us fans, Cong said the music was his idea and Sui didn't like it initially. And if the empress doesn't like it, you know it won't be long for this world ;)

Yay Sui and Han they did it. They pulled it off when it counted but i feel sorry for T and M - they seem to be that second / fourth place team which is such an agonizing spot. On the bright side they didn't look good all year and they pulled it out with a silver. My hats are off to Sui and Han they did it - undoubtedly a bit ofl uck - skill yes, but her individual jumps have been always shakey but it doesn't matter what happens on other days it is today. I just feel sorry for T and M because so many loud fans exist for the French and Chinese but not T and M.

At this point I don't think it's the programs that are the issue. Their programs here were fine and well suited for them--they just bring nothing else to it beyond perfectly executed elements, and when the elements aren't absolutely perfect like tonight, the performance really falls short.

So what if S/H waited a year to give me their Olympic performance. If I can pretend Michelle won gold I can pull this off too

I think it is even more than that...Building something apart from that experience, making something beautiful, memorable, real out of personal struggle, doubt, little time and dedication. It was such a defining moment for me, the power of it, sheer force - and as last year the moment was an end of something, this one is hopefully just a beginning. They managed to re-define not only themselves as a team with new repetoire in TWO outings, but managed to re-define shape of competition. It takes something else to be able to do such thing.

How the heck am I supposed now to go to work?!

Well, you would know how us, the fans of Stolbova/Klimov, feel then  Just kidding, they still have plenty chances :)

Ok, Z/E why you gotta force us to listen to that music again!! Bad enough you beat P/J

Lori Nichol does a wonderful job with these Chinese couples. It gives them the soul that Russian couples no longer have ...

There is something about what you said. Seeing Wenjing and Cong like that, one have to wonder if something truly personalized, a sprinkle of unsaid something, is needed for a highly skilled, talented, beautifully presenting pair to get an edge...

I think you both are right. I really think what does it for me with Sui and Han is that extra something that has no name. Not only do they usually choose music that suits them, something about them as a pair is just elevated. There is just a lot of raw emotion from the both of them, always.
