There are so many things I love about Shoma Uno skating. I love how deep in the ice he gets. I love how he points his toes and fingers on every move. I love his flair. I had gave up watching this sport after Mao Asada. I thought that I would never get that invested again when I ran across Shoma Uno video on youtube and thought oh darn I am hook again. TSL said that he has great knees and wonderful posterior which is all true but that quad flip needs fixing and I agree. I want so much to say to him please add a jump specialist to your team who can be with you at least once a week to work on those jumps. Yuzu does not just have Brian. He has a jump specialist on his team. Dai did not just have a coach. He too added a jump specialist. Yes Nathan mainly have Raf but Raf is a jump specialist coach. It is Shoma decision but I will always hope he adds one.

This post a 100% :thank:

I get the significance of the clenched-fist pose, but it always looks like they're getting ready to clobber someone! Maybe that's the idea...Sho always has the best tie on Team Japan. I'm sure soon one of the fans with Eagle Eyes will be able to tell us what brand it is!

Looking forward to the ice shows and to seeing that beautiful smile come back!

Yeah, but he is not yet at the Medvedeva’s truimphant-pissed fist pump after her FS stage yet... thankfully.

I know he was hugely disappointed, but I also wish the media wouldn't pounce on skaters immediately after they skate and their feelings are so raw. I think it takes a little time to get things in perspective and process them in your mind. I guess it makes for a better story if you interview someone right away.
!

Yes, I find it quite uncomfortable when they're interviewed right after the skate. I still remember Vancouver Olys Mao being interviewed straight after her FS and she was trying hard not to cry and failing. The interviewer was just there gawking ( I presume, because what else would they be doing) and waiting in silent anticipation while Mao was struggling with her emotions! And she still had to say something when I'm sure that was the last thing she wanted to do at the time. I was yelling at the screen 'Hug her or do something you monster!' But yeah, i guess they want to showcase some raw emotions but it's terribly intrusive at times especially when the skater just had a bad skate.

Another time was when Shoma had that emotional 2016 Jnats skate where he burst into tears right after - when he was interviewed he was still swollen-eyed and heaving from that earlier episode. I was super grateful for Daisuke though, when he interviewied Shoma - Dai was so kind and emphatic in both his stance and tone of voice, that I hoped it comforted Shoma a bit, if not a lot (I know I felt comforted lol). Having gone through the same harrowing ordeal with reporters in that same situation himself, he would know how tough it was to gain some measure of composure and collect some thought in that moment AND have it broadcasted to the rest of the world... I wish it was Dai that was on post skate interview duty at Worlds!

^^^^^ this reminds me that Daisuke was the interviewer on duty for Shoma after that immense Worlds 2018 FS and I'm so grateful for it because he was so gentle and considerate to Shoma, and Shoma clearly was happy even just a little bit to be interviewed by Dai after being in so much distress.

Clearly only one solution for this: praying for more ex-skater interviewers for Shoma please...

I read online that Shoma is planning to change the two 4Ts in his free to 4Fs, put them in the second half and start working on the 4Lo again. I hope it works out well for him

Ex skaters interviewers for all skaters! Or sweet emphatic ones like Dai anyway
