Yay, Vincent! Was able to get up at 3:55am to see Vincent's SP live! So happy to see coach Hamada cheering for hm & sitting with him in the Kiss&Cry!

100.51 is a new SB/PB! He landed Rippon(new)4Lz+3T, 4S, 3A.

and spread eagle + 3A, also new, IIRC Vincent has never attempted that move in practice or competition, not even spread eagle+2A or ina bauer+2A . Vincent has attempted counter+2A in his baby days (and counter+3A as a Christmas gift for fans), but in my memory Vincent seems has never attempted eagle or bauer directly into 2A ever.
 
Congrats again to Vincent for ending the season with his SB/PB SP performance! He had the highest TES - 57.30. Men's SP Results

Thanks for the link to the latest Fanzone article by Lynn, ice coverage. Japan really is a blessing for Vincent. It is doubtful he would have done so well at Worlds without the supportive crowd. His time in Japan leading up to WTT was really well spent, thanks to coach Hamada.

Haven't had time to watch the replay. Looks like many WTT videos are geoblocked in the US. :disagree: Lucky Canadians. Found a Russian commentary one but the sound dropped off after the skate started. :-(

Thank you, coach Hamada. The time spent in Japan with you did wonders for Vincent! So happy for him! He even ended many of his jumps with a smile on his face. (tears)

I was just gonna say that ending -- that unbelievably adorable moment of him going into the final pose, huge smile already on his face -- melted my heart thoroughly! Thanks for the clip! I do want to see it over and over again! :love::love: I'm also loving his moments with Mie Hamada sensei! :hap93::hap93:

I honestly thought he'd win the free skate. That was the best I've ever seen him perform CHTD, and also the most labored/exhausted Nathan's ever looked during a free skate. But of course I am not complaining/disputing the results. I am proud of both my Asian babies! :love::love: It was just what I thought for a second after they skated back to back and I was able to juxtapose Vincent's vibrant, buoyant skate to Nathan's fatigued performance.

Overall, it's a beautiful event for the singles men of Team USA. It's a beautiful time to stan the duo that is the hope and future of America's figure skating. :clap::clapper:

Chen, Zhou excel again as U.S. takes commanding lead at World Team Trophy

Vincent Zhou had a fantastic skate to “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” The 18-year-old landed three quads (lutz, salchow, toe loop) plus six clean triples with an electrifying performance that brought the crowd to its feet in appreciation.

Zhou earned level fours for his spins and step sequence and displayed his unrestrained joy at the completion of his program by pumping his fists and slapping the ice.

Zhou credited his work this week with coach Mie Hamada for helping him to obtain the result.
“That was the best skate I have ever had,” Zhou noted. “I felt more relaxed and confident in my technique than before. I think the reason for that is working with Hamada-sensei has really helped me develop my jump technique to a point where I can be more sure of where my body is and stack over myself so I have a better axis and landing.”

Zhou was very pleased when he saw the scores of the judges after his free skate.
“All the jumps were called clean. I think that was right this time,” Zhou remarked. “Everything felt super good and I’m proud to finally have a truly clean protocol.”

So happy for Vincent! Thanks again, coach Hamada & Japan!
 
Vincent' Free music is remixed by Hugo Chouinard (check out his insta story) just for his LAST performance this season at WTT. And it is the best free skate of Vincent's entire life!!!!!!
WTT is not a significant event, basically an end of season celebration kinda thing, and Vincent was not certain whether he is going to WTT or not even after worlds' podium finish. But Vincent went out of his way to remix his free music (with the help of the lovely Hugo Chouinard) just for WTT.

This must be a gift and Vincent's love to figure skating and his adoring fans. Vincent said at worlds fan message that "it make me happy that my skating makes you happy" :love:

and I suggested Vincent to remix his Free skate music at the beginning of this season (on this board actually), I never expected Vincent would actually do this, but he did !!!!!!!!!:o:

Hi mom-to-be! Here is the GIF: Vincent smelling the flowers

Just got home from work. Had to do OT today, getting up before 4:30am again. So tired. Haven't had chance to go through all my social media feed but here is a video clip showing Vincent smelling the roses. :love: What is so adorbs is that he twirled the bouquet around a couple of times, and was looking lovingly at the flowers. Ah! What a wonderful world it is! Our sweet child! Thank goodness he did not have an allergic reaction like he did here and at US Champs. :laugh: Glad WTT gave out that pretty bouquet, instead of the Thanksgiving decoration from Worlds, lol.

The more precise translation of what the Russian lady says on the clip background is ‘momma mia, what a lutz, real pretty’ or ‘dear me, what a lutz’ etc
