When is this movie coming out? And to what medium (theaters? Straight to the DisneyDVD section?)
I agree that Cohen plays the brat role very well. For some reason it just seems like "her", ya know? Of course we don't know if she really is one or not, but I'd imagine a girl like her would at least have fun doing it if it doesn't naturally fit her personality.

This seems like a good role for Sasha. I don't think this movie will be released in theaters. It probably will air on Lifetime or Hallmark channel. Is this a comeback movie for Don Johnson? He has been pretty low key lately.

Film looks cliche and derivative. Sasha looks alright. It should do pretty good business, though.

What did you expect? They did there research, "Ice Skating and Ponies" seem to be commonly connected. Throw in Don for the moms (and some dads) and va la....I mentioned to a friend how I was surprised about the number of equestrian interested posters there are here at GS. He was "why the heck does that surprise you? Puppies, Kittens, Ponies and Figure Skating...what is not to understand?"
In all seriousness though, what hasn't been done - particularly lately - that isn't going to seem like "Oh another one of those Movies."

Well all I can hope is that in the future she could go the way of Jennifer Hudson.

Call me cynical, but does the world really need another reworking of "National Velvet"? 
If this film had been made in 1962, Hayley Mills would be the star, Ann Jillian would have the Sasha Cohen part, and instead of being released theatrically, it would just appear as a two-parter on "Disney's Wonderful World Of Color."
